Hello Guys,

Just last month I sat down with a salesman at my local Stratstone for two hours ordering my new RRS 10 plate.

I put a deposit down and had a reciept with an estimated delivery date for early March 2010. (He advised me he had two HSE models allocated ready to be customized) for March delivery.

Yesterday I had a call and it was the salesman - in his own word he said to me "due to demand for the MY10 RRS, the two we had allocated have gone off the radar and I could very well expect delivery for late May early June!

As you can imagine I am deeply annoyed and am just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this before as this does not seem right especially as I am ordering a £60k car!!

I know I am on the other side of the globe but when I purchased mine on Dec 30 (an 09 plate which was in stock) I was advised if I wanted to order a vehicle to my spec the delivery would not be before May 2010 14 RRS SCV6 HSE Corris/Ebony/Ivory

I think what your dealer is telling you is that he has a regular client who is paying him full list or more than list to get a car before the change in tax on April 1........................................... cynical, moi? A local dealer herehas told me 8 weeks for a TDV6se and that they will pick up the increase in tax as it's an April delivery. Quoted £44495 with Mats and flaps thrown in. Seriously considering it. Said RRS is now on order.

I ordered mine back in mid jan and was told it would be mid march. dealer called me last friday and said it's here. It's sitting in his compound waiting to the 1st of March to have the new 10 plate fitted. I think delivery dates are just one big sham. Every new car I have ever ordered has come way earlier than I was told. It happened last year with the Mini Cooper the missus drives. Was told 6 weeks and it came in 3. Mine is due for delivery on 1st March from Lookers Park Royal. I hope I don't get this issue, although judging by the reputation they have this is unlikely.

Matthew and I were discussing with a forum member yesterday amending a vehicle we have coming through in April to his spec and holding the 0% offer.

We can't match some discounts being offered (or that were being offered) by other dealers, but if those dealers have run out and can't get a car then it doesn't matter what deal they offer. Sometimes the deal offered is the attraction at the time, and sometimes people get upset when we won't match a cost deal, but it all comes down to 'delivering what you've promised'.

PS Any vehicle that we have for March are so far in time (some moving forward), some have reg numbers allocated and we've now got a few customers coming to the dealership for a midnight driveaway on 28th Feb (Departing 1/3 obviously)!

Lookers Park Royal. I notice you used to be called Charles Hurst. Are you any connection to the Charles Hurst here in Belfast? That's probably where I'll be getting my car from. Said RRS is now on order.

I too have been advised that a new order placed this week - car is available May.
