United States 2008 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black
RRS SC off road video

Hey everyone, new to the board and thought I would self-promote to get started. I've had my sport for a few years now and have been working on getting it in shape for off-road fun, which it totally rocks. My buddy's got a Rubi, and he's now decided to just leave it at home and ride in the rover, nothing wuite like heated seats and satellite radio when you're at serious off-camber. Smile

I was down in Crozet, VA last spring with the local owner's group for some off-road fun and got a chance to do a little video capture of the event.

Range Rover Sport off-road

Hope you enjoy watching as much as I did driving!

Hey Tim!

Thanks! Actually I've got some pretty heavy duty sliders on there from off-roving that have saved my tail many times. I did manage to lose part of the plastic ground effects on the passenger side rear door at that event, but local landy dealer put it back on for me no-charge! I think they just liked seeing the mud all over it so much they didn't think to charge me. Smile

Had mine mildly offroading last weekend - had to wash it PDQ after I got home as the next day it was in to have the suspension knock cured! Nothing too difficult as I use my Defender for that sort of stuff!

Yeah, the rims are toast, but they were eBay specials off of a RRS HSE that the guy was going to 22s or something crazy. Made me happy and stepped me down to 19s so I could fit the 255/55R19 M/TRs on it! Had a heck of time convincing the Alexandria LR dealer that the 19" rims would fit, but once I convinced them it was possible they made it happen.

I still have the original 20" rims in good condition in the basement. I was planning to swap them on and off for wheeling, thinking the wheel noise and handling would make me want the 20s back on for on road driving after 'enjoying' the M/TRs tires on my friends RUBI, but no, they rock and I drive with them everyday. They're a bit noisier, but nothing I can't live with, and they make it look so much more aggressive!

Hey Diamond,

There's at third possibility at work here, I could be clinically nuts. Reality is it's a small combination of all three. The way I figure it, one small scratch is an accident, two scratches are a catastrophe, a dozen little love marks are a lifestyle... A guy down the street from me has a nice Rubi, all done up, lifted, winch, sliders, the works, but not a single mark on it, winch cable perfectly wound, paint perfect and gleaming, and everytime I pass by I think, poor little Rubi, wants to get out and play... Razz

Where's the Disco site?

Cheers

I can't see why LR say that - the first RRS G4 vehicles were petrol versions (not SC), the chassis is the same for all RRS and the only reason I can think of is the ACC will have to be disengaged. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

www.disco3.co.uk Thumbs Up

Of course over there they like to say that the furthest a RRS gets to go off road is a grass verge Rolling Eyes

BTW cool vid, although it did end up costing me nearly 15 Euro last night, as I ended up buying an original 1988 issue CD of Flag on eBay, after hearing the "proper" version of The Race on your vid Smile
