So what happens if after 45 seconds you aren't clear of the obstacle? |

Well guess what - I have a dented fuel Tank protector (the metal shield that covers the fuel tank!) from this happening back in about July 2008. My RRS (quite rightly) went into extended mode in the Wombat Forest, only to lower itself whilst I was still needing extended mode! In fact the whole rear suspension went lower than the front, as the people I were travelling suggested at first that I had punctured my rear air bags!

It wasn't in the 2006 D3 manual. I don't know about RRS or later ones? Curiously, my 2006 D3 didn't initially have this limit i.e. it would stay in extended all the way up to the 50kph mark. Only after the air compressor/valves upgrade did it revert to what I was told was 'standard' behavior! Pic of the console when you get it into super-extended mode and my RRS in super-extended mode.

Yup, all the front end stuff are genuine LR parts. I've got the nudge bar, the winch and the undershield. You can see better in this pic, we had to do some mods to the nudge bar to fit the winch and notch the undershield so the nudge bar mounts would fit. Basically had to cut off the bottom bar between the uprights where the winch sits. Wasn't a major modification and took a day to do with the assistance and major cooperation of my local landy dealer.

Sounds like you have a great dealer too Charlie - is that the dealer out near Virginia Beach? I went in there while passing through Norfolk Va, and they were exceptionally friendly and helpful, even though I wasn't remotely going to buy a car from them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

One of the techs at the dealer mentioned the 45s interval. In my experience it seems to vary, but then I don't know how slow you have to go for the car to consider that you've stopped. Note that it's 45s of travel, not just a 45s period.
