Music for your RRS

In these days of MP3/iPods it's easy to do music compilations to accompany your driving experience......but what do you choose Confused

So lists please of top 10 driving tracks, yes only 10, it's a short journey Very Happy - you can loop/random them. You can split into day or night tracks only cause I like to listen to different tracks depending on the time of day. And if you'd like to throw n a particular road that matches the track please feel free Very Happy

As I've only had my RRS a week I'm still deliberating...........Q

I leave mine on shuffle, then play 'name that tune' for the opening 5 secs or so of each track, and if it gets the tumb's down then I skip to the next one. Having the whole family use the same iTunes is a bit like Russian Roulette as from time to time 'Incy Wincy Spider' & Co crop up, or even worse Will Young!

I have extended this to the house and installed a Sonos system. That way I can control and listen to music stored on the Mac, the ipod, in any room in the house and in the car. Laughing If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

I have gone the other way and must be having a mid life crisis since I seem to be listening to N Dubz & tincy Stryder........must be a turning 40 thing and normal service will resume at some point.

I have also been loving popstar to operastar so I might have a look at some opera but dont have a clue where to start, any ideas for something not too heavy to get started with.

I've been taking a look at the Sonos system over the weekend & I'm really liking it

However Being what I suspect is an American built / designed system & they mainly having timber frame houses, which would make wireless coverage easier, I wonder how the system would cope with the brick built solid wall house we typically have here.

How do you find the wireless range around the house ?

Rupert - SONOS range is very good, and where range becomes a problem they have 'Bridges' to boost the signal. I've fitted SONOS systems into 3 floor houses without a problem plus into many other homes in the UK - the biggest problem with SONOS at the moment tends to be streaming various radio stations and Napster music as the demand is getting greater by the day

Thanks for that Kaine Thumbs Up

Online streaming wouldn't be too much of a worry, as my broadband connection wouldn't be good enough to rely on internet sources alone. I'm more interested in my iTunes on the iMac being available in various locations throughout the house.

I'd dealing with an old house, with stone walls 3ft thick in some places, how would you see the Sonos handling that ! ?

Edited to add....

I've just relaised that I've hijacked this thread & am taking it off topic to my own gain, so apologies Embarassed

I don't really have one TBH. I tend to listen to the radio, or drive in silence.

I find that if I do play my iPod or Cd's in the car, after a couple of songs I just get annoyed & distracted for some reason & switch back to the radio.
