The deal we did for you Jimmy meant there was nothing in the pot to pay for any mats!

On a serious note, the best bet is to thrash out the whole deal before placing the order as they will be keeaner to throw mats in if you are just about to sign an order. It also depends on the level of discount given too; if you have had a large discount then if they'd thrown in mats then it would just reduce the discount they give you. In some instances it's best to focus on the whole package, but in others it pays to get the best deal then nip round to parts and chat the parts manager up.

It is a little confusing as HSE Freelander come with them as standard.

I asked for Rubber Floor Mats with my MY10 & the Dealer (Town & County Aberdeen) just threw them in
at no charge without a quibble. I also got a very nice Land Rover leather money clip foldie type thingy.
When we bought Mrs Endjin's Freelander just a few weeks earlier she got Mats, A Land Rover Golf Umbrella
and a very nice LR Cross Pen Oh yes, and of course I mustn't forget the big LR Teddy Bear they
gave us for my son when he was born last March....... OMG... he's nearly a year old!!! Where did the time go

James... I am not pointing fingers!!! Especially that with the '10 model, I just took my mats from the 07 I gave to you (which I have bought )... But when I bought the 07 one, or cars before that...I never got matts free..

Jimmy, You aren't using 07 Rubber Mats in an MY10 are you? If you are you need to stop as there is an issue with them jamming the pedals! I walked away from a deal on a new Mercedes over the issue of mats. I specd the car with over £10K of extras, paid the deposit and placed the order. I queried the delivery date and happened to mention the mats in passing (assumed they came with the car) and was told, 'no sir, they are extra and that will be another £125)'. The arrogance of the dealer was unbelievable over delivery date and the mats issue. I actually got my deposit back after a falling out with the sales manager (the dealer principal admitted fault) - but I placed the order elsewhere. The other dealer was only too happy to accommodate me and take my £50k - mats included.

Me? I would walk away and go see another dealer. It' s the principle that is wrong here. They are legging you over for profit maximisation on the deal.

 If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....
