United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

hi Easy
My advice is don't let your heart rule your head on this one. My friends son is 19 and he is also really turned on by custom cars and blinged machines. But he has just lost a fortune by paying way too much for a VW Golf that had custom interior, paintjob, bling wheels etc. Someone drove into the side of his car in the snow a few weeks back and the car is a write off. Despite the accident not being his fault, he is now having a nightmare as the car is not deemed to be standard. The car is probably only worth £3k - but he paid £7.5k for it as he could only see the bling. Now he has no car, and the insurance company are refusing to pay. The moral of the story here is consider the cost to buy and the cost of ownership, and don't forget the insurance issue in non-standard cars- and then the resale value in a couple of years time.

If you want an individual car, you could do worse than buying a good, one owner 07/08 and adding your own personal touches. You will get more satisfaction in doing this and you will save a lot of cash as I personally feel the red one is way over priced for what it is (a getting on a bit 'Cliff Richard' of a car) and its none too pretty. I have had mine colour coded and this was only a few hundred pounds. A small cost yet a huge difference. If you are prepared to lose 60% of your cash in buying this car over 2 years (yup - that's what this will cost you), and if you really want it, then go for it. But consider all the issues beforehand. If you do buy it, I am sure I'll see you driving around the South Side! But go 'easy' on this one (pardon the pun!).

Very wise words from muffd. For me this car is OTT and not really a good example. You could do your own custom job on a standard RRS and have cash to spare. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Sorry M8, I'm with most of the others. I think it's a horror Big Cry ... But, if you like it then that's absolutely your choice and you shouldn't be swayed by anyone elses opinion about it's looks. Although, that said, MUFFD's point about insurance problems is a VERY good one and deserves consideration. If you do still want to buy it then I'd say check with your insurance company first as to how they would handle a claim. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Easy

check out this post from Khan:

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic16841.html

Now, if you bought a standard car, look at the interior you can get from these guys. Add a nice set of rims and color code the car and hey presto!
