Change to Dynamic Pack

Just noticed on the LR website that the Dynamic Response Pack has been re-launched.

I had ordered the DRP for my car and will be getting 19in wheels (in lieu of 18in) but the new pack will come with the 20in 10 spoke wheels.

Has the price of the pack gone up to reflect this? It was £2,040.00 when I ordered mine. All my dealer would say was that the wheels are still an extra.

Will I be one of the few with puny little 19in wheels?

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Hi Keith

I picked up my TDV6 HSE yesterday. I'd originally ordered Dynamic Pack (April this year) and was subsequently told it had been withdrawn due to component supply shortages. A sizeable stink was kicked up and as a result a TDV6/ Supercharged 'hybrid' has been supplied.. it all took ages to sort out but apparently only 30 have been done by the factory to keep us disgruntled lot happy. It's all been worth it - the Brembo brakes and dynamic respose are just fantastic..

They offered me the 19" wheels originally. The problem was that since the first sales brochure, the upgraded wider 19" rims which were to come with DP were then fitted as standard to the HSE, so I'd have had no wheel upgrade with DP, which really wasn't on as visually the only DP difference would then have been the front brake calipers! Cue another stink-kicking..

So yes, the 20" wheels were extra.. I was told that the DP with 20"s will not be available until after Jan build but getting it early meant I have paid what the DP will apparently be from Jan06: £3250....??

Hope this helps.

I have just been on the "builder" and built a 4.4HSE & you now get option of 20" wheels...... when you move onto options you will see that the Dynamic Pack is already ticked and features in the list " your RR sport "

But seeing the total price (£52750 ouch ) then get yourself the supercharged for £5k more YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE Cool

Or £46750 for the 2.7DHSE....... before you spec any other options

I even managed to spec a DHSE up to £52715..( with every option going bar one ). strange..... I couldnt spec adaptive bi-xenon headlights without losing the 20" wheel etc? But, again to spec all this/cost for the diesel you must really do some serious mileage.

The Supercharged is an absolue bute to drive. Cool

Have any other cars already been delivered to forum readers with the Dynamic Pack? If so, I'd appreciate knowing what you have paid and what you got.. private email me if you prefer.

And if you're waiting for Dynamic Pack, when is your expected delivery date?

Any info very much appreciated.

Cheers

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

My RRS isn't due till Christmas (I was told 27th December). I wasn't given an option to order Dynamic but would be keen to assess whether I should now try to add it to the specification. Do users of this site who don't have dynamic on their RRS feel it would be a desirable option ? I do drive on a lot of twisty roads and really hated the way the Range Rover wallowed about. The Disco 3 is fine though. I went for a TDv6 HSE with a few toys on and plan on getting it chipped....

By the way, having ordered a vehicle is it possible to amend the specification ?

England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Rimini Red

Smarticus,

I was told that spec changes = probable delays.

About two months before delivery I called my dealer to add a sun roof to the order and was told that would add nearly 3 months to the delivery date, I have found my dealer to be pretty honest, if a little product ignorant. I was talking to another RRS owner recently who found the same delay caused by spec changes but wasn’t told by his supplying dealer of the possibility, He was just given a series of lame excuses as time went by.

Cause and effect I suppose. 11 XFR

08 RRS TDV8 HSE with the good bits taken off the first RRS

05 RR Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red (Rimini Brown at events), Stormer wheels (original 19's for events), PTI, towpack. TV tuner (now driven by an employee)

1923 Ford Model T (serious ground clearance)

FFRR TDV8 Vogue my07 (wife won't let me use it in case I go to Salisbury with VA in it)

plus some other bits n' pieces

All I can say is that with DR the car handles brilliantly.... compaired with a normal RR ride its like being on rails when driving through twisting lanes. All you have to do is decide if adding this is worth any extra wait? In my opinion its what makes the "SPORT" ..... a SPORT

It'd be interesting to see how much the handling tightens up with DR. Having driven a couple of Vogues on the odd occasion I can certainly testify that a non-DR RRS drives a lot better than a full-blown Rangey... much less like driving a boat Laughing but it's still no Cayenne in that department. I've not driven a DR-enabled RRS, so cannot comment on the improvement myself - maybe I can wangle an SC when I do my LRE day.

However, we still have to consider that with a car with such a high centre of gravity and pretty heavy, regardless of what we do to the chassis & suspension the car will never handle as well as a well set-up car - "ye cannae break the laws of physics, Jim!" and all that Wink

Hi Martin,

I like the sound of "cornering on rails". Does it feel wierd initially with the DRP or is it just brilliant?

I've only driven an RRS without DRP but ordered it anyway.

It is brilliant, the ride is very firm when it comes to cornering/poise/balance. There is no wollowing as experienced in even the current crop of Range Rovers.

Proof is in the pudding.... contact your local dealer & insist in a test drive in a RRS that has the DRP fitted...... I think you will be pleased.
