This has probably been discussed before, but how was the Alpina?

I'd have thought you'd have gone for an M.

I'd always thought of Alpinas as a bit more grown up (I'm not taking the Censored for once!). Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Good point J, M's are everywhere these days.

Alpinas are generally more low key, altho' the wheels do look a bit bling.

Owners often claim they are more discerning than M drivers.

SuperT.. i have to remember to take off these Black LR wheel hubs for you before my RRS leaves me on thursday.. have had to leave it at home today, tanked it around all weekend, and i sold it with 11500 miles on the clock and have now done 11600, so feel a bit cheeky.. will drive it evenings only this week.. Have my sisters Saab with me today.. bloody think we have plasticy interiors on our RRs', should see the saab, plastic central!!

My mate bottled it and went for a 54 CLK 240 Cab in the end instead of the 55 AMG.

Couldn't justify the extra outlay p.m and fuel/insurance/tyres etc.

Told him he was a sad tw Censored

Then again, I did go for a TDV6 for similar reasons (minus cost p.m) Embarassed Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I prefer the old shape CLK as well..

Mercs always feel too expensive to me to justify the outlay though..
when i first bought a Bmw, i tried to compare it to a merc CLK, but the cost difference between the two and the lack of kit on the merc made me buy the Bmw.. still never bought a merc.. apart from my dads old sclass barge which had worse electrical problems then our rrs'..

Although we are thinking about the new new Sclass right now in place of the 7 series.. would be nice i reckon.. merc have returned to their former glory it seems with build quality.. shame the dealers are still tossers..

sorry ignore me.. course i've got a merc.. look at my avator!! duh..
yeah i couldn't of afforded the RRS SC at the time i bought my TDv6, and to be honest i think the fuel bills would have killed me.. has been a tad softer in the TDV6 i think..
