2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

those GPS jammers only kill half the Tracker - the radio emitter is harder to supress (putting the car in a shipping container is the most effective way)

Very sorry to hear of this. I can relate to this as I had a brand new car stolen after just three weeks of ownership. Sad

No tracker fitted unfortunately.

Trackers are useless ever since the introduction of GPS jammers. You can buy them off ebay for £10, plugs into the cigarette lighter and creates an invisible 'shield' around the car. The only good thing about a tracker is it offers some kind of discount off your insurance policy.

A Clifford Blackjaxx may be worth installing as this will cut the cars power after the keys have been stolen. Cool

Hope you sort it, it took 13 weeks for me to get paid out on mine Shocked

Tracker worked fo me. Located the car less than an hour after it had been turned on.

Really sorry to hear about the loss, happened to me a year ago and mine was found in a container on Felixstowe docks bound for West Africa.

If the vehicle is recovered and you decide to not make a claim you can avoid having it tagged on the natioanl insurance database as stolen recovered, you will need to talk to your insurance company if this is the route you where to take, once this is done the flag is removed from Experian and other credit checking reference agencies.

This is how i ensured that mine was not tagged stolen and with great thanks to a contact via James was easy enough to sell. If you do need any assistance drop me a pm and i will give you my tel number and i can discuss in more detail.

Hope everything works out well in the end Thumbs Up

Thats good news Kitty, I am impressed by your insurer as if I read it right your car was stollen on the 21st Jan and you had a settlement on the 28th. I am surprised the insurers dont want to wait to see if its found. Will you get another RRS?

Sorry to hear about the theft. Although I have no information , my BMW 5 was stolen in Chelmsford, Great Baddow, despite having a dog in the house! As I had a tracker the car was fortunately recovered in Barking (London)the next day.

My car was found in Barking so sounds like the same gang.
Its about time the old bill caught them.

Hi,
Just been reading this post. I am a member of the FFRR forum (noddy) and wanted to add my comment to the rest

This happened to me in November. Went out for 15 minutes with the dog and when I came back, the front door had been booted in. 42" LCD TV gone, along with PS3, bike leathers/helmet, laptop, iPhone and the FFRR Evil or Very Mad

We got the car back within the hour thanks to the Tracker. Thing is, it was literally minutes between the scum taking it and me returning, so I had the advantage of being able to contact Tracker straight away. It was found 4 miles away, with no damage and likewise, no fingerprints either!

Just glad i got it back - I feel like we beat them on this occasion Thumbs Up

I genuinely feel for you though mate - I know what its like. Don't mind me- Just visiting from the FFRR forum

1. Instead of a motion-sensitive car alarm, use one that has a pager that will notify you as soon as your alarm is activated.
2. Keep valuables out of plain sight. Take them with you or store them in the trunk. Also, if you have a stereo with a removable face plate, take it with you instead of tucking it away in the glovebox.
3. Instead of locking just your steering wheel, "lock" your car's ability to go by using a starter disable switch and putting it in a place where only you can get to it.
4. Instead of going to a big retail chain store, have your car alarm installed by a professional car alarm installer, preferably a reasonably shady one. Unlike retail chain employees, these experts know what it takes to make your car elusive to crooks.
5. Never display stickers that advertise what sort of car alarm you have, or audio system for that matter. Consider using a hood lock cable so the thief can't get to your battery or car alarm mechanism.
6. Never leave your keys in the ignition even for a quick errand. Car theft is a crime of opportunity, so don't make it easy for them to grab yours
7. Keep your registration and insurance information with you and never leave personal information in your car.
8. Whenever possible, park in lots and garages that have security and/or parking lot attendants. If not, don't park in the farthest corner of the lot but rather near the entrance of these facilities to insure the most foot traffic (and the most potential witnesses). Also, opt for paying the extra couple of dollars for the monitored parking lot instead of using the free parking on the less-trafficked side streets.
9. Don't leave spare keys in your car or in a magnetic box attached to the underside of your car. Thieves know where all the "hiding places" are.
10. Instead of VIN etching the major parts of your vehicle, which doesn't turn most thieves off, drop your business card into the doors through the window slots to identify your car as yours. 2010 TDV6 3.0 HSE Santorini Black Tan Full Leather
