2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

New owner

Hi guys
Just picked up my new to me RRS after trawling round this site drooling at everyone elses. Very impressed with it so far and have just had the interior stripped out for recovering in black and cream by exclusive in Birmingham. Will post up some pics when its finished.

Two questions I could do with some advice on.

1. Should I have it chipped and if so anyone know a specialist in Derbyshire.
2. It seems a bit clunky / rattley at the front end over small bumps. All the info Ive read suggests a problem that affected 2007 onwards. Mines a 2006 is it likely its the same problem a lot of others have experienced.

Any help is welcome.

Hi Bob and welcome to the Forum.

A couple of the site sponsors will reprog your ECU - click on the moving banner opposite the RRS at the right hand top of the page and check them out. I have no direct experience of this but many owners have posted that this has transformed their cars - especially the 2.7 - which I assume yours is?

The front end knocking noise has been discussed at length in the Forum - can I suggest that you have a search when you've nothing better to do - its a fantastic resource of info and I am sure you'll find answers there.

Dont forget to post some piccies when its been retrimmed. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

when i chipped my MY06 2.7 it was like the car had come alive, not yet found a chip for the MY10 3.0 TDV6. Definately recomend it purple people eater

Thanks for the info.

Spoke to my local RR dealer and they seemed to know what I was talking about, re knocking at the front and have asked to inspect it to see if the latest recommended mods have been done. No longer under warrenty so have no idea how much its going to cost so if anyone has any experience please let me know.

Out of interest Purple, who did you use to chip your 2.7 as there are a couple advertising on here?

it was a few years ago, will dig out the paperwork and pm you. They came to my home and carried out the work, and guaranteed to return and re chip FOC if it ever got reset by the dealer. Think you may also find a few recommended on the forum if you search for it purple people eater

Just got the interior finished and have posted some pics up in the gallery. Definatly recommend the guys at Exclusive in Birmingham, turned up at my house on Wednesday and stripped the interior, bought it back on Friday and fitted it all. Cracking job He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins

They dont actually advertise the bespoke interior service but they have a website where they advertise cars for sales and stuff. http://www.exclusivecarsgb.co.uk/154153/index.htm

The guy that I spoke to was the owner called Abdul really nice bloke. I didnt know it at the time but he is the brother of one of my customers and he did me a really good deal. The mobile number at the top right on the website will take you straight through to him. If you do get in touch let him know Bob Welch put you on to him. (You never know it might get you a discount) I obviously can only vouch for the quality of workmanship on my car which is exceptional and the service was brilliant. Called at my house Wednesday and stripped out then brought everything back and fitted it on the Friday.
