They have changed a bit inside since I last had a G-Wagen, don't think you could pressure wash the inside of one of them like I could with my old one Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Just a guess - but might be to do with the fact that the Aussie Army are changing from Defenders to to G-Class, so Mercedes are having to engineer the right hand drive for this...

Why not then sell it to the English for a huge profit as a luxury car!

Also the UK army are looking at another brand, also made in Austria instead of Defenders. I think the fact that they now have to tender in every country in the EU for new kit has forced this on the UK forces. Either that or Tata's threat that they are go to take production out to India to cut production costs.................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Well the Brit Army are already using the Pinzgauer which is made by Styer-Daimler-Puch the same folk that originaly designed the G-Wagen and Haflinger Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Most, if not all of the British Armies tank carriers are Oshkosh heavy duty tractors (USA owned) with a mix of Nooteboom and van Hool (Dutch) low loaders!

you can see them sitting at the side of the A1 at Catterick if they're not on deployment! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

We looked at the 6x6 Pinzgauer as a base vehicle to build on for projects but they were just a little small, tho we did use the armoured 6x6 for a while
Eventually we moved to the Unimog as it had just a bit better size and payload. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh
