Removal of side steps

Hi. This is a bit of a rubbish question, sorry .. I have factory fitted side steps and door sills that chamfer in to the wheel arch to the front and back. I am looking to take the side steps off and beef up the tyres.

A mate said it will look a dog given the chamfer in the sills. Has anyone removed the side steps just leaving these sills? Does it look daft? It would be great if someone could send a photo if you have one .. Thanks.

Not to worry, thanks .. I have found a photo of a Sport sat on Nitto Terras showing the door sills, no runners. I would upload it if I could work out how.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

If it is the OffRovering Givery Green RRS doing it's stuff offroad then it is actually using what are called rocksliders to protect the sills. The guy who owns the car posts here and also sells the rocksliders but they are VERY expensive over here after shipping.

If you remove the factory side steps the plastic sill cover will have insightly holes in it.

So unless replacing with something else to cover this area some new sill covers will be required to tidy up.

pm me to discuss further if you wish.

If you want to sell the steps afterwards..... i'm looking Very Happy

Also someone has mentioned the holes that are left in the trim by removing the steps.. If i were to buy the steps off you, we could swap the trim around if you wanted... Problem solved Thumbs Up

The side streps are off with no unsightly holes. It looks well. I want to keep them but thanks for the interest. [/img]
