No ideas, but must be a fault somewhere, have been reports of chaffed wiring looms .

I have no idea about the blowing fuse X5, but your car is obviously suffering from the same problem as mine on these recent cold days - no washer nozzle heaters! Last night I drop back from Edinburgh down the M9 and most of the way it was -5c and thick / freezing fog. Trying to keep the screen clean was not clever. I think it's OK having supposedly heated nozzles but if the rest of the hosing back to the bottle is on the wrong side of the under bonnet insulation then the lines will still freeze up coz the engine heat isn't getting to them. Strange though that the rear screen jet never seem to freeze up on my car................................

Shouldn't you be able to feel the heat with your hand by touching them?

Which fuse is it ? I thought mine had frozen up last week, but this morning's drive to work (3 1/2hrs on the mways) was interesting without windscreen washers. Thought it odd that the headlamp washers are still working though, assumed they were fed off the same pump ?? Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne. |

It's been a weak point ever since the vehicle came out, as is changing the fuse itself. The 'official' fix is uprating to 15A, as mentioned although apparently there is a technical bulletin on this, but good luck with the pincers provided!

That's exactly the fault I've got, both front and rear washers don't work. Thanks ever so for the response |

I believe we had another thread on this...using a pair of long nosed pliers is much easier than the supplied red pincers. You can use them for removing as well as re-installing the fuses...piece of cake. PJPR

Agreed, but sometimes you have to make do with what you have at the time. The pincers are a pain, but better than nothing. A suitable vascular clamp or hackle plier can also be pressed into service to give the reach that the pincers lack. |

Completely different fuse box layout in my RRS, from my limited inspection in the dark last night it looks to be number 12 fuse, which was a PoP to pull out. Sadly, it didn't appear to be blown ![]() |
