Have you tried pressing the key fob? MY10 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, 20" Diamond Turned Alloys, Factory Privacy Glass, Premium Leather, Contrast Stiching, Side Steps, Etc

Surely (don't call me Shirley) if you lock the car (assumedley with a second remote) then it will re-engage the engine immobiliser and halt the engine

Yep, same on my my2010 SE. Used to be able to do this on previous RRS (MY2006) so I guess this is progress!! Anyone got a solution Long suffering RRS Owner, but I can't help it! |

Not sure that would be a great idea since someone could smash the window and drive off with the key in the ignition.

Thanks for the responses. As already posted pressing key fob doesn't work. Want to pre-heat the car in the morning and de-ice screens which takes about 5 mins. The car is in a gated area which is pretty secure but as with all my previous cars just dont feel comfortable with it unlocked and out of sight. Someone could climb the gate open the door and pinch my Abba CD ! |

I wouldn't mind betting that the keyless go system doesn't allow you to lock the car with the key from the outside with the engine left running.... you could feasibly start the engine, lock the car and then lose the key - then you're stuffed (granted you've got two keys, but easier to remove the risk in the first place).
