I would suggest that something more serious is wrong with your car - it isn't telling you it needs a service it is telling you something else! The service indicator is a small spanner with a number beside it (days or kms to service due or passed service if a minus sign is showing as well) and that is what gets reset at service time 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

yup, engine light has nothing to do with changing fluids or service. You need to get it hooked up to a computer to read what fault has occurred. If it came on same time as the work being done id take it back because they have probably messed something up. On the bright side its a permanent light in your case so the computer will tell you whats wrong (in theory). WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph

If your local garage as not got the needed tools to proplery diagnose your car and you dont want dealer visits it may be worth thinking of some kit for your self.
