Says low battery and will not start, could put jump leads on it but there is clearly more to it than that, only used it yesterday, nothing left ON, lots of warning lights when u try to start gearbox etc and the clock goes mad. I do hope this is a blip and not a sign of things to come. |

There are a few posts on the Discovery 4 forums about battery issues with new cars. It seems to happen if the car was left standing for a long time before delivery. The solution seems to be to fully trickle charge the battery using a charger. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

My 2010MY sport has had 2 battery issues. First was low voltage warning on start up, thought it strabge as the car had been on some long runs. Then I went abroad and the missus said car wouldn't start. LR assist called and found no reason for the flat battery. All charged up and not had an issue since. My car was built on the 14th Sept and delivered the following week to dealer, so hadn't been left long. I think it was because I hadn't closed the glove box properly. It doesn't close very well on my car and needs to been slammed shut. Think the internal light drained the battery over a couple of days. 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

I think all power drain sources are killed off shortly after key out. Even if you turn the radio on w/o the keys in it powers off after 20 mins or so - If all is working correctly nothing, (like the glove box light) can drain the battery on any RRS to date ( you cannot charge a phone or even keep a cool box cool with the key out) |
