V6 or V8 ?

Hello all

Have a TDV8 on order for March delivery, have I done the right thing?

1, Reports say there's a new V8 coming but nobody seems to know when...

2, The latest V6 is supposed to be better than the current V8... True or false?

3, The spec on the V8 is better than the V6. Is it worth the extra?

4, Is a new V6 going to hold its money better than the "old" V8?

I hate buying new cars Smile

Any views greatly appreciated

Thanks

Andy

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

You have done OK mate -
1) if you sit around waiting, you will never buy one!

2) IMHO the V8 is still a nicer drive

3) Yes!

4) Probably as it is more business user friendly than the TDv8 - lower CO2 and excise duty 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

By all accounts the new TDV8 will broaden the gap once more between it and the new TDV6.

Had a look on autocar website today and they are saying the following:

second series of stripped-out Superleggera models.

Land Rover Range Rover V8 TDi

On sale July

Price £57-£72,000

The best-selling Range Rover gets a revised diesel next summer. Expect an increase in capacity from 3.6 litres to closer to 4.0 litres and a consequent increase in power to around 300bhp. However, CO2 emissions should fall. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Imho I can't see how V6 can be better than a V8. No matter what the figures say.

So V8 Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

V8 does come with more standard kit and I guess a decent chip re-map will no doubt hike the power and improve economy more than the V6 Wink Speaking of which... any recommendations?

Thx

Andy
