MY10 RRS-Park Heater Problem

When I activate the park heater using the remote fob the car alarm goes off?
Anyone else had this issue as apart from this niggle, the park heater is a must have option for winter months Thumbs Up
Cheers

I wonder if the power drop when the DPH fires up is too much for the alarm system and it thinks that somebody is tampering with the main battery 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim,

The park heater can also be set to come on via the touch screen. When using this option the car alarm is not activated?
Strange! Confused

ahhhhhh right so this question falls into the category of "1001 Great Range Rover Sport Mysteries", like the "can I lock the suspension down at speed?" question - it will do it by itself when it wants to! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

not sure how it works on the new keys, never checked.. Is there a dedicated park heat button or just a programmable one? In which case it might be programmed as a panic button instead of park heat? WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph

Have used the Park Heat many times over the last 3 weeks. The alarm has gone off once so far, doesn't appear to be a regular problem.

Dont hold your breath regarding the weather improving. At present we have very heavy snow up in Grampian and it is due to slam into England Tuesday tea time. Silly amounts of snow are falling and have already decided not to even attempt to drive the 30 miles or so into work tomorrow. I wonder if my boss knows I drive a Range Rover Whistle

I'm not 100% on what the heater does apart from burn fuel to heat something up, but could it be that after 10 mins the car then switches the vents on in the car to circulate the hot air, tricking the internal alarm PIR sensors that somebody is in the car so it activates the alarm

maybe if you try locking your car, without the internal sensors on, like if you had a dog in the boot, and try the button to swich the heater on

If you look at the Disco 4 site some people have been having the same problem and it seems to being caused by the direction of the air vents as they blow in hot air -altering the blowing direction seems to have cleared peoples problems

It's beginning to sound like a lot of buyers are ending up doing a lot of product testing that should have been done before the car was launched on the general public......................... now where I have I heard that before , DR suspension rattles, lack of FBH on early models, Gearbox problems on 2010MY, clumsy satnav/ human interface problems................................... I haven't heard of these problems with 2010MY FFRR so LR must have got them just about right, but then if I were paying that much for a new car I would expect it to be perfect 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
