Hi S4LAD,

As a matter of interest - what wheels and tyres do you have on your RR?

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver

Hi all,

My 2009 HSE has the same suspension problem with the lights coming on and the vehicle lowered. I have just rung the garage for advise and with it being Christmas Eve no one can help me until tuesday. My problem is, as I live 40 mile away from the garage, would it be safe to drive it ?. The suspension was down at the front but raised at the rear, but it has corrected it self for the time being.

Merry Christmas everybody.

Latest Update

Land Rover Assist took me to the garage on the 29th Dec and gave me a freelander as a courtesy car and would let me know what they found.
Just picked it up today and they have replaced the OSR height sensor and it all seems OK.
Even though the freelander did it's job, it is so nice to have my sport back.

Landrover after sales is dreadfull!! Evil or Very Mad I know All car dealers are the same but you would think when you spend so much money on an upmarket car you would be treated better!!

The only place I have ever been treated properly is at the Aston Martin Garage in Edinburgh Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Big thumbs up to them.

If I didn't need a car I would walk everywhere and never speak to low life car salesmen again.

Why do we just bend over and take it??

Sorry got on my soap box again Embarassed.

hopefully most of you with these faults are now sorted due to Q 079 recall now operating replacing the rear sensors for non porous ones and new software.

Gents,

The reason I suggest LR arnt openly admitting there is a serious fault with the suspention is that if someone were to be killed and its is wholly possible if you have a tyre blow out at 80mph, (even 50mph) which they knew about but failed to adddress, the courts would hammer them and force a pay out of multi-million pounds in compo.

On this thread alone there are at least three people with this fault. i suggest you all make contact via phone and take this further. I believe S4LAD is taking court action. It would seriously strengthen his claim if he had statements from other drivers with this fault.

Good luck....

This is complete scare mongering, anyone who has driven RRS off road will know that a wheel can go into full bump condition without the tyre hitting anything on any type of lock. I was personally waiting for an answer to charlies question re- wheel and tyre size fitted. This is people messing with their cars and then trying to find a scape goat when it goes wrong!!! Evil or Very Mad Trust me, i'm an Engineer!

guys.

i just replaced all tyres and the rear near side was down to the wire on the inside. the car also seems to drop on this corner when parked up and switched off. there is also a noise from the suspension generally when driving over a manhole cover, small bump or the like. like a rattle or bump noise. i would suggest that this vehicle should be like silk over the bumps.

does this sound like an issue? its 07 and the warranty is out in june. should i be getting it into the dealer NOW?

Can anyone help me as well

I have a range rover 2005 2.7 diesel,

it has developed some fault, every time i go to drop the suspension, when it says lowering it starts going down and then automatically it says going into OFF ROAD MODE? and if i press the air suspension button again quickly it goes down to access mode.

One or twice the orange coloured light has appeared on but seems to go away every time a started the car, but hasnt been there for weeks now.

once or twice another message also appeared saying obstucle in way or something.......

could it be that i have fitted side steps to the car?

CAN ANY ONE HELP Big Cry

The suspension system has gone into extended mode - it basically thinks that its stuck on something underneath the car if its trying to lower and this is taking too long, so trys to clear the obstacle by raising. Assuming that you are not actually stuck on anything Very Happy then this can be due to any of the following:

1) Air suspension exhaust / exhaust silencer is blocked.
2) Air compressor exhaust valve is defective.
3) Stuck corner valve/s
4) Height sensor /s defective.

Start by disconnecting the exhaust pipe from the compressor then ask it to lower and see if you get a very loud hiss for a second until it trips extended, if you do its the height sensors, if it doesnt then its one of the other things. Trust me, i'm an Engineer!
