2010 MY Warranty Issues

RRS delivered mid September and so far 5 warranty visits back to suplying dealer for lots of niggles: steering pulling to left (3 visits to cure this), rust on rear screen frame, condensation in headlights and taillights (all replaced and replacement headlights still full of condensation), paint blemishes (debris under clear coat on roof and sills), centre console replaced (supplied with novel self opening one!), rear door retaining strap seized, wrong mudflaps fitted front and rear, gearbox warning light keeps coming on and finally still waiting for a full size spare wheel as incorrect one fitted at factory. (SE owners with 19 inch 15 spoke alloys beware as your RRS should come with a full size alloy spare not the 18 inch emergency spare fitted to 2010 MY RRS's with 20 inch alloys).

Ho hum... the way it's going it looks like I will have more warranty visits than my last 2006 MY RRS which managed 12 in 3 years

Totally fed up with supplying dealer attitude, especially workshop supevisor who is totally uninterested and you really have to push them to do anything. Seems that quality and customer service do not come as standard with RRS which is a shame as the MY2010 RRS is really a great car and much better in all respects than my last MY2006 RRS Exclamation Neutral Long suffering RRS Owner, but I can't help it!

...and report them to LR.

Don't accept shoddy servise, just look at the excellent work our forum sponsor Charles Hurst Park Royla have done. They are a shining example of how a premium dealership should be run.

I'm sure James would also vouch that it has subsequently paid dividends in sales with forum members choosing to buy and service their RRS's/FFRR's and FL2's there Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

RRSOwner,

Very interesting - my Sept delivered TDV8 has shared many of the same problems as yours including the novel self opening cup holder which is finally being replaced next week. What was the cause of your steering pulling to the left - I have raised this with the dealer who could not find the problem on a test drive. To be fair it is very slight but enough to make your arm ache driving any distance on a motorway if you don't want to slowly end up on the hard shoulder!

Gaerbox warning light for me is also a new one that has just appeared - what was the solution there as well?

Singe

Singe, steering pulling to the left was caused by slight tracking misalignment. Mind you it took three trips to the dealer to get it sorted and like you I was told that on a test drive the dealer could not find the problem, that was until I insisted that they sat in the car on a test drive with me and observe then they agreed the car was puling to the left when the steering wheel was in the straight ahead position. Dealer then set up tracking on laser kit and bingo, problem solved. You may have to force the issue with the dealer workshop supervisor but it's worth it.

Gearbox warning light, look at the technical forum as I posted a reply there this afternoon and will update as soon as i get any further info.

Guys, I'm quite happy to name and shame the dealer, it is Stratstone Landrover Newcastle. This is the second RRS I have purchased from them and probably the last although, they now have a new Dealer Principal and maybe he can sort out the poor customer service issues! Long suffering RRS Owner, but I can't help it!

If your RR sport is pulling to the left or right ask your dealer to re align the tracking. I have had 6 sports and each one was delivered with the tracking out of spec.
