2007 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Java Black

RRS Problem with acceleration any advice please

Hi All, This is my first posting and hopefully many more. The RRS when driving along (2007 diesel) at any speed is fine but when I want a bit of power to overtake etc the engine shuts down saying that I am going down hill and of coarse this is potencially dangerous. RR have told me it could be the ECU unit or something else , I have not taken it in yet as I I hoping someone can point me to a simple solution. Kind Regards and thanks in advance.

Yes could be the ECU but also sticking EGR valves. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Do you get any message on the screen?

In addition to the egr, could be a dodgy turbo, turbo hoses.

2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Java Black

Had something similar when the Steering Angle Sensor was showing faults - due to the Steering Wheel being off centre after an alignment check, funnily enough.

The car would go into Limp mode and giving a Hill Descent Control Fault. Even though it was not engaged, and cruising at 70mph on an A road.

Steering Wheel correctly adjusted and everything went away.

Maybe completely unrelated, but as you mentioned the car thinks it's going downhill thought I would share anyway.

Hi All, Many thanks for the replies. The message if I remember is a hill descent symbol but only comes on when I need to hard ascelerate at any speed ( from 20-120). Please reply if you have any more suggestions .Thanks again

secondo me il problema potrebbe essere la valvola EGR, come già ti hanno suggerito...
dipende anche da quanti km hai fatto......
