Scotland 2005 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Tangiers Orange

I went from an audi RS6 to my 4.4 V8 Petrol G4 sport..... I can honestly say I haven't missed the Audi for a second.

I'd go for the V8 Diesel or Petrol over the TDV6 any day.

I had a TDV6 and found it to to be seriously underpowered, especially on the motorway.

Hope this helps.

Graeme.

Just off the phone with Stratstone salesman telling them I might quite like to go for a TDV8 rather than a TDV6 and that to save him time I had already established that another LR dealership had one in stock...Well it seems that Stratsone are not allowed/prepared to source other vehicles from outside of their group or so I'm told and that as they have no more RRS MY2010 and wont have now until Feb2010 then that is that????? Is this right??? or is this them trying to push me into this one to meet their own sales target. I would have thought if there is such a shortage of RRS MY2010 then it wouldn't be too difficult moving on my TDV6 if I did eventually go for the TDV8. As this is my first RRS I can't say I'm really enjoying the buying process with Stratstone,,, If it wasn't for the £500 deposit I might have considered pulling out Banging Head

Will you V8 dealer take the £500 hit for the sale ? Walk from S/S and go to other dealer if he'll soften or take your deposit hit Question

Look at it another way, whatever the engine it will not be on par with what you have. The new 3.o litre has got some pretty good write ups and is a much better engine than the old 2.7.

Yes the V8 will be better but enjoy this one and then you can upgrade to whatever bigger version is available later. With the all important export markets looking for big engines think one will still be around.

Although the 3.0HSE which I had ordered arrived at the dealer last week I cancelled it Shocked Shocked Shocked

However the good news.. I have re-ordered an all bells and whistling 3.6HSE in Buckingham/Ivory for early March delivery Laughing Laughing Laughing

Just hope this will be a better compromise for the S8..there is no point in buying something unless your 100% sure its the right thing, maybe its just a V8 thing with me who knows Very Happy Anyway the dealer was more than happy to use the 3.0 as their new demo without me losing my £500 deposit.

Incidentally dealer also told me that the new diesel due in July is a V10.. anybody else heard that????

The motor for July launch is rumoured to be a 4.4tdv8 and only for the Big Daddy FFRR.I am surprised Stratstone Perth were less than helpful as they offered me a TDV8 from stock to almost the exact spec I wanted 2 years ago when the dealer 20 miles south on the M9 reckoned they could not get the same spec for 3 months! I ended up buying from CHPR in London with a better part-ex value and a discount that locally was not achievable. You love the TDV8 - yes the 3ltr Tdv6 on paper has dam near the same output but everybody I has spoken to who has driven both says the TDV8 is still a better car in real life driving. Enjoy your TDv8 when it arrives 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

The local Audi dealer gave me an S8 when my R8 went in for another software update... I've gotta say
it was hysterical. Wasn't too sure about pushing it really hard round the twisties (just because it feels ponderous after the RCool but in a straight line it's ear to ear time Very Happy The noise, although not intrusive, is delightfull!
It's a Gallardo engine isn't it?
