Condensation/water ingress

Hi guys

my first post! Have taken delivery of new RRS in October, my second, last one did 3 years trouble free. However, suspect water ingress may be a problem. 1st week 1st wash, water came pouring in through roof courtesy light console. Took it in, told drainage channels not connected properly (no apology) expext better from £55k motor. Ever since, the car steams up really quickly, and takes a blast to clear it. Also suspect boot may be a little damp, but cant be sure, may just be cold. But now notice all four lamp clusters have condensation inside lens. Made a call, but been told this is normal and that if i turn lights on heat from bulb will dry it out! thant cant be right can it? Am I just paranoid due to RR unreliable/poor build quality past? Sad (put two new engines in my old RR X plate)

If your car is now damp inside (seats, carpets, headlining etc) it wont dry out on its own at this time of year. You need to put a dehumidifier inside for 24 hours. Just a normal domestic EBAC or similar will do the job. If you dont have one, ask around your mates. Someone will have an old one tucked under their stairs.

I do this now and again in my Defender and it makes a huge difference to condensation on windows and smells and general atmosphere in the vehicle. Probably very good for it as well as damp damages materials and electrics. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

To be told this is normal is appalling, it is not normal and they ought to sort it - they'll have a nice warm workshop and they ought to address.... submarines aren't normally wet on the inside - the RRS shouldn't be Evil or Very Mad

Trouble is they cost a wee bit more Laughing but doubt they have the charecter of a RRS Smile

Condensation in the lights is pretty standard these days in all sorts of cars due to the inferior plastics they now use.

Thanks Guys

Thanks for advice, may just start saving up for a submarine, especially with the number of flood alerts we now get in Sheffield. Going down to dealer to throw a strop over my condensation issue, wish me luck purple people eater
