help.... big dent in my wheel!!

Just noticed a pretty big dent in my front left wheel

Dent itself is straight down, pretty smooth and rim about an inch from the tyre

Rim itself has some cracks but look to be the paint

Question is, is this likely to be repairable and why don't I remember hitting anything?

Picture to follow

Oh, and typing from my blackberry so apologoes!

Are those genuine wheels, or replicas!! If replicas then it could be the cause as i have herad that replicas are not strong enough for the weight of the RRS if genuine get back to overfinch mate and ask them Sad

Wheel is on its way from OF, will be with me tomorrow. Im paying of course, and it will go back to the factory and get scanned etc and they will work out what happened and we can take it from there

In hindsight, we think its possibly a pot hole I hit a few weeks ago, and I just didnt think to check the wheel at the time. In time, its got worse..

Now, here's a possible problem - I shouldnt be driving on the wheel, but I need to get the old tyre put on a new wheel. My usual mobile guy said they cant help unless they are fitting a new tyre

ANyone know of a someone who may take a different view point? Alternatively, I get LR Assistance to recover it?

Depends on the distance and type of road....... If its a slow road and say 10 miles I wouldnt worry, my wife managed to hit a pot hole and break 4" of edge off an alloy on our Alfa and we did not notice it till the day after and also 300km later!!!! Shocked

if it hasnt broken since a week of driving, a short drive being careful and avoiding to many bumps should be ok! RRS TDV8 HSE 2007- JAVA Black/Black interior,

Don't you have a spare? Confused

Even if the size is slightly different, should be ok for short distances.

Damn That's some Whack you've given the wheel! Big Cry

Your Insurance should cover a replacement though.

As for getting it to the repair shop, If you have LR Assist cover then I'd
just call them out to swap the spare wheel onto the car and then
drive to the repairer. Good Luck. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Trouble is I. Can't help thinking the tyre is damaged too...

Using eventmobile tyres, they will charge £80 to do the swap over, however they are c. £50 cheaper if the tyre is indeed knackered
