2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
24 months/ No2 service

My car is in the local dealership today for its annual TLC visit. The service reception have just called to ask if my fuel consumption was signficantly lower than normal.......................... it has dropped from28-29mpg to 24 in the last week since I came home so I said yes. It appears the only unscheduled change that is required is a new set of rear brake pads as they have been binding on "due to lack of use" well the car has sat on the drive for a month without use! Interesting they have checked the tread depth on the tyres - after 21500 miles there is 4-5mm on all tyres and no funny wear on the shoulders Thumbs Up Delighted to learn the spare has never been used as well!

The only other unscheduled item is I am having the LED headlights taken back out and replaced by standard......... this is one expensive job £1300 for supply and fitting 2 new adaptive headlamp units Shocked 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Well I don't want to pay an extra 2.5% VAT after Jan1 2010 for a replacement set when I change the car next year when it is 3 years old. Nothing wrong with the LEDs apart from 1 side light LED only has 5 out of 10 LEDS illuminating. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

VA, nowt wrong with the units, see my answer to Lespes. When I change cars the dealer will reduce the value of the part-exchange because they will have to fit a set of standard lights, so I would prefer to do it now and save a tiny amount - £32 is better of in my pocket than Gordon Brown's 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Oh I forgot you have those non standard lights. What happened to the original set of headlights? Surely you could have picked up a spare set of lights and fitted them yourself - even I could do that, it's a 5 minute jib. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

The Hawke set were the original units that got modified, the LEDS were fitted and the orange side reflectors removed. Grey plastic within the lamp units was also colour coded Stornoway and a Hawke logo was put where the orange reflector used to be.
I could have picked up a "used" set but prefer to have a new set with a warranty. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thumbs Up That's one way of looking at it - now I'm paying the price of being a bit different for the last 2 years!
