MY10 and Puddles

Drove in some heavy rain on Saturday night down a few back roads, hit a few large puddles at low speed 10mph, i was shocked how much water was thrown on to the windscreen, wipers on full i had to stop as i could seen a thing for a few seconds

I don't recall my 56 plate doing this, it used to throw the water sideways

Both cars had 20" alloys and both the same tyre

Has anyone else experienced this in a MY10 or do i need to drive a little slower Confused MY10 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, 20" Diamond Turned Alloys, Factory Privacy Glass, Premium Leather, Contrast Stiching, Side Steps, Etc

Gone 2006 '56' 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, 20", Side Steps, Brembos, Dynamic Pack, Etc

Maybe the improved engine in the MY10 makes you feel like you're driving a lot slower than you are, compared to the earlier years. Whistle

To be fair, I get it a lot at low speeds, always handy to have wipers on Auto.

With the rain we've had lately I've targeted standing water (with no pedestrians about) for just this type of cheap entertainment. Laughing

ASH,

Not noticed any difference between pre-10my and 10my myself. In my opinion all off-road vehicles are pretty bad due to the increased exposed tyre surface to the front.

James Thumbs Up

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Not from the outside it isn't Ash, there was a 2010MY parked outside my house yesterday and when it was started I was surprised how much Taxi rattle it had compared to my TDv8 and from what I remember the old TDv6 I had sounded like on a cold morning. Just sounds quieter inside due to all that laminated side glass absorbing the noise! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I thought 2010MY cars all came with special side glass on the front windows to help security and reduce exterior noise from coming into the cabin.................................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Not all 2010MY vehicles have laminated glass.

The easy way to tell is to drop the door glass and look at the top edge. If the glass is laminated you will clearly be able to see the edges of the two pieces of glass. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Well based on this indication "if the glass is laminated you will clearly be able to see the edges of the two pieces of glass", I do have laminated glass

I don't recall seeing this as an option...was make a car have it vs another without it? Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

The 2010 RRS TDV6 is a lot quiter than the 2.7ltr, but not as quiet on the outside as I would like. Don't know what the reason for it is as the Jags with the same engines are whisper quiet. 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

Maybe it's because the engine is higher from the ground, gives more room for the sound to come out Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6
