Goodbye sport...hello D4

After 2 years of throttle blipping, tight cornering and listening to the growl Evil or Very Mad of a diesel V8, I'll be swapping over to a Disco 4 with a nice list of options tomorrow. It will be both a sad and exciting day to gain more of an off road thorough work horse from the curves and sportly look of the RRS. Big Cry

So it's good bye RRS, hello D4. Swapping a blistering engine for a tailgate - I'm chuffed! Rolling with laughter

Anyone else defecting soon from the Range Rover camp to the Land Rover team?

See you all on the disco.co.uk forum... Thumbs Up

PS - if anyone is in the market for a 2010 car I'd suggest talking to Purnell in Sydney as they were very keen on the trade price for the sport which made getting into the D4 that much easier. And they were a pleasure to deal with into the bargain, restoring some faith in the motor trade. Smile

Now the D4's actually not the pikey wagon it used to be, I wouldn't mind betting this won't be the first RRS to D4 escape Smile

I'll have to get a sticker made up - "my other car (was ) a Range Rover.

After my day trip with the disco3 forum members to the Hampton it was time to get a hardcore 4wd without brembo's and low profile rubber.

The excitement of all the accessories available should make up for the lack of pace the 2.7 will deliver and of course the wife will be happy that we can commence house hunting now we have a more economical mode of transport! Cool

Only 1 more sleep till the handover.... Big Cry

DMP you could have swapped your TDv8 with low profiles and Brembo's for my TDv6 on 18" wheels, stock tyres and brakes.. it handled everything the D3's did, now it looks like i will be the only Sport on the next get together Wink

At least i can give you a decent race back to Sydney town now your trading down in power terms Thumbs Up Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

I have to say that I really disliked the old D3 dash but quite liked the rest of the car, having looked at the D4 I'm very impressed.

Not sure it's enough to make me jump ship but its very close.

On a side note I've started seeing RRS adverts on TV but not seen any D4 ones.....should we read into this...lol!

Time to get the TDV6 chipped then?? Whistle

I'm so happy with look and new features, I'll be happy in the slow lane just cruising for a while. The only D4 today that I seen was the one I drove home in - I'll be the sole D4 and you can be sole Rangie, how exclusive! Very Happy

never fear. For every defector from RRS to a D4 there is a D3 to RRS Defector.

I am wearing Mrs W down and once I can get a drive of a 2010 RRS I hope to be jumping ship from my D3. Very Happy

Having seen the D4 there's not enough there to make me upgrade from the D3, and the way we use the D3 means we'd be better off in a RRS (only use it on sand not any rough stuff)
