COST OF CHANGING BREMBO DISCS & PADS ON TDV8

Hi guys,

yesterday "check brake pad" warning appeared on my screen, after 60.000 km (37.000 miles) with my tdv8... so I took it to the dealer/stealer... Big Cry

and here we go (Brembos off course):

discs:............SDB000624......................240,00 eur
sensors:.........SEM500090........................27,50 eur
pads:.............SFP500070.......................222,43 eur
other mat:............................................17,55 eur
work (1,40):..........................................68,00 eur
TOTAL (20% tax incl) 602,69 eur Shocked

what do you think? how much did you pay for? did anyone change discs at that millage- the old one looks quite ok to me?

Does anyone have official LR-parts price list, to check out what the recommended prices are?

Thanks RRS TDV8 HSE

Why are they saying that the discs need replacing?

My warning light has just come on this afternoon, does that mean you have to change pads / sensors and discs.

My car is 18months old with 20,000 miles, I'll not be happy if its more than simply pads which I have always changed myself on previous cars.

Daz, at 20K it should just be the pads that need changing

The pads front and rear are a piece of p*ss to change, but the sensor leads are a bit fiddly to replace

I would contact Nick at Yeovil LR who will be happy to supply pads and sensor leads at discount

Nope brakes tear and wear too, it's an extension of the manufacturer warranty for Switzerland. It is called Advantage pack. 3 years free services, including man hours, oil and all fluids, wiper blades, brakes, etc.
Included in the car price(of course is paid for in a way or the other Wink ) '08 RRS TDV8

That's what I thought... It should be only front pads... but at the end you saw the result?

So, does anyone have prices of parts?

How much would cost at CHPR? RRS TDV8 HSE

got my front disks and pads replaces with sensors and the rear pads replaced for £220 inc labour from my local independant Land Rover specialist who can also stamp teh book to keep the warrenty valid using genuine pads but better disks as the LR ones are a bit prone to warping. so far no issues. plus they now do my servicing for half the price of the main dealer!

Guys,
I've found old discs in my trunk. Whistle Must say that they are in quite bad shape. The surfaces of brake rotors are warped and have an uneven or high spots on. More on inner sides. My opinion now is that guys at the garage made a right decision to change them.

Today I got prices from Austrian dealer and are even higher than I paid for.

Tnx for all your comments and advices! Thumbs Up RRS TDV8 HSE

Can you reuse the existing brake sensor wire if the "check brake pad" warning has not yet been activated, and then only change the brake pads? RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass
