I thought the same and was trying to find something to give the game away. From the handles it looks like its a definately a pre-2010 car.

Nice job, had me fooled.

Looks like it's passed muster DCC, if James was nearly fooled. Thumbs Up

Out of interest James, in your view, how would LR extended warranty view covering a car that had this work done?

I guess because of the mods required to the electrics to accomodate the new lighting, they would refuse to cover the car?

I would imagine that DCC would warrant their workmanship in connection with any problems that may arise? LR would obviously not cover anything that has been modified, although if it is not in direct connection with the modification then it would usually be on a case-by-case basis.

I would have thought that the main target market would be RRS owners with vehicles that are outside of the manufacturers warranty anyway (+ 3 years), as anyone with a late vehicle (pre-2010) would probably look to upgrade to a 2010?

James Thumbs Up

Agreed James,

but I was referring to the LR extended warranty (Age 3yrs +) and not the man warranty.

Would have thought that due to the complex wiring arrangement of the RRS, CANBUS (whatever that really is) etc, that the mods involved could easily impact any other electrical connection on the car, in LR's view.

Anyways, just summising as it's a quite day. Wink

Don't want to go off topic, or hijack DCC's thread. But, have you ever had a customers RRS Audio unit fail, specifically the CD player fails, rest works?
If yes has the whole unit normally been replaced? Ever heard of LR repairing the faulty part of the unit?

No worries if you haven't come across this before, like I said it's a quiet day. Thumbs Up

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic15333....40b800d2f3

please see the above link for a picture of the rear, sorry but not on work computer.

thanks for the comments, we are very pleased with the finished article, as regards the conversion and your warranty i work on the basis that a customer should in the first instance call Land rover as they issue the warranty and i do not, if people are concerned still i always say that if they are in doubt then they should not go ahead, we have every confidence in our work but understand a customers concerns. What i will say is we have been facelifting older vogues to 2006 spec and now 2010 spec for a while, with the vogues they are older cars and less likely to be under warranty so has never really been an issue for us, now that we are converting sports its a new case scenario, on the plus side for sport owners due the car being more modern the wiring is so much easier than the vogues which to be honest is a real test of my electricians skills and with each 2010 conversion we find something new, with the sport headlights they plug straight in and only need minor work wiring wise and the rear lights are about 80% easier than the vogues to wire in so from a warranty point of view i would hope there is less to question, body work wise your have new wings and everything we fit is genuine land rover, as mentioned older cars will be our main market but i have people with 2008 cars who want the work undertaken but i always refer them to land rover for any warranty concerns.

Martin As long as your alright
