A huge thanks to all of you, that has proven really interesting and I shall be taking some of those results (The better ones I hasten to add!) to CYTA today.

I have decided that i am going to work 2 - 3 weeks in Switzerland and have 2 weeks off back here.

I know that everything I need works Switzerland as my friend works there already.

So he is looking for a studio appt to rent for me, I am getting a new passport from the British Consulate in Nicosia (c. 3 weeks) and then my 'Commute to work' will begin!

Thanks again guys Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

He lives in Tavel sur Clarens, just a 10 min walk downhill to Montreux (In fact we went to the Jazz festival in 2007).

He lives in the French part, overlooking Lake Geneva (Or Lake Léman as i think the French call it).

Quite an adventure ahead of me.

Great that I can only fly from Larnaca (1h30m from home Rolling Eyes ) to Zurich (About 3hrs on the train to Clarens WOO-HOO! Neutral ) Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

can you not do what they do in the movies* and bounce around the worlds servers to get to Chicago?

Cyprus > Germany > Rome > Chicago and maintain higher connection rates

or is it just crap getting any locations out of Cyprus

* I don't even know if its possible in real life

Nick, if you go to your start menu on desktop, click run and enter cmd and hit enter.

You should have the command screen open (Black screen, white text and flashing prompt.

Then type:

tracert

leave a space

then either the IP address or URL name for a website of your choice and it will perform a ping speed test and map out each of the 'Hops' it makes from your PC/laptop to the server which your chosen destination is.

it's interesting to see what woute the signal takes and how many hops it makes along the way.

Alternatively, enter the command promt (cmd) and type the following:

ping -t

leave a space and type again either IP or URL and hit enter.

This will do a second by second ping test which is far more accurate than the website based speedtests Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I really don't know if thats good or bad, as our office uses its broadband to login in to a network down in London so i presume that takes up a bit of bandwidth.

I was thinking along the lines of those computer geeks that re route the connection thought 20 servers to stop 007type people from stopping there devious plan.

Like Angel says i must watch too much tv Embarassed ..... anyway back to watching Ben10 Laughing
