Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black
2010 RRS S/C

Hi guys, my first post in RRS, i've been loving my D3 for past 4 years and lovig the info from disco3.co.uk, now its time to pass the D3 to the wife and get myself behind a RRS.

I have nearly done the deal for a 5.0L supercharged RRS, in fact two, one for my business partner too.

Now its time to consider colour and anything we may have forgotten.

One white and one black is my thouhgts.

Any feedback from you guys in the UK who have driven or taken delivery of a 2010 S/C would be great.

cheers

When are you getting them Ontheridge - I heard that the 360 camera is only available on Australian cars from Jan build onwards, and perosnally I think thats the gadget to have! Thumbs Up

Black and White - isn't that a bit "Basic Instinct"?? Whistle

Please don't wait for the surround cameras. We have those on our D4 and I see little if any point in having them. A rear view camera is mildly handy but the other cameras seem to me to be in the "gimmicky" category rather than a "need to have".

BTW - as a Newcastle Lad I would say that "black & white" is a fantastic combination - Toon Armyyyy Thumbs Up RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

They may be gimmicky, however come resale time it is one of the things people will look for in the spec.

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Ontheridge, I have test driven one this week and must say it is a whole new car compared to my "old" MY09 TDV8. The drive feels extremely soft but it sticks to the tarmac as a 911. The engine pulls endlessly and brakes (brembos now on the rear Wink ) have fantastic stopping power.
Do not like some of the "new" features in the interior (as for example presentation of the on board computer) though, especially as they feel bit too cheap.
As in colour combo, any mate. The engine is a symphony I can guarantee that the first weeks you will not be spending much time looking around you leather interior or listening to your iphone but rather loving the power that the engine delivers Laughing

BTW, the one i drove was black on ivory - very nice combo. Though personally will go for white on black Wink

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

Hi guys,

Thanks for the info, not fussed about the 360 degree camera, rear view camera will be handy at times.

But, shame shame, I drove a 2009 Cayenne GTS on Saturday, i was surprisingly impressed, not too sure of the power from the natural 4.8L V8, seemed a little lacking(maybe i was just hoping it was a 5.0L S/C in disguise), but the feel on the road was great. I do like the compact feel and but seems to have excellent room inside.

One interesting point is I can have the Cayenne's delivered before X-mas in white and black, but will need to wait until April for the RRS.

So, has anyone done the sums, made the comparison & worked out why a RRS 5.0L S/C and not a Cayenne GTS.

Cheers

TBH, and without trying to sound prejudiced (which I probably am), given my recent experience with both Land Rover Australia and the dealer network, I would be hard pushed to justify buying another new product from Land Rover..

By all accounts, the V8 in the GTS is a bit of a revver and as such isn't ideally suited to a heavy 4x4.

Still, it's by far the best looking of the Cayennes and with the PASM/air springs etc. handles better than most, if not all other SUV's. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Yep, the GTS does look the best out of the ugly Cayenne range, in fact it surprised me with its big wheels and lower suspension, i liked it straight away.

I'll still have my D3 in the family for the rough stuff, touring and round big car jobs.

So a RRS is not essential for offroad use, but hell it would be fun.

With such an expense for the RRS, i am a little concerned with the future of Landrover & TATA. MY2010 RRS 5.0L S/C - finally has arrived, out with turbo lag, in with the neck breaking V8!!!

As I have said countless times on here, the only thing holding the Cayenne back is it looks and the GTS looks better than most of them, I'll agree. It handles much better than any RRS, the engine in the GTS isn't quite as competitive now the RRS has it's new 5.0 unit.... it's even quite capable in the mud (OK, maybe not quite so capable as a LR) but damn good given it's not Porsche's heritage.

The Cayenne is soon to be replaced so I wouldn't get one new. Its likely to loose a lot of money when the new one's out.

Apparantly, the looks of the new one will be.... how can I put this? Less challenging?

Then again, look at the Panamera! Hardly a sound track record. Still.... Rolling Eyes Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
