Sounds like the "expert" opinion of the dealer's service manager is needed. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

hi when its cold i get a bit of a wine and tickin rackle for about 5 seconds!
but the noice is only when im drivein abt 1500 - 2200 revs, its just when the turbo is comin in, if i hold it at about 1600-2000 revs you can hear it!

      Hi wokka,

Thats the noise I have from mine - thought you had just had the diff and ttransfer box replaced Question "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

I had this whirring noise when cold at a particular rev range (around 2000 rpm) for over a year. Finally took it in and managed to get the dealer to acknowledge it was there. Turned out to be a whinning idle pulley at the front of the engine. They replaced it and its all fine now.
