Scotland 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
new rrs newbie member asking the q's...looking for answers

Just thought i'd ask the people in the know, what BAD POINTS to look out for. I'm due delivery of a rrs sport tdv6 2006 black edition with black supersport alloys this week.
ONLY EVER HAVING A TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 80 series BEFORE and being a previous owner of a Audi rs6 and member on the rs forums, i know only to well, that this is the place to ask the real people who drive them everday.

cheers Very Happy

Honestly no bad points. You might get a car with a few problems but these have been documented on this site if they arise and if you do get a fault we can point you in the right direction. Most owners are 100% happy. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

I'd say that any bad points are a matter of personal opinion. As with any car, you could say you didn't like this and you didn't like that.... but the RRS is a great package. It's not without it's problems, but most of the "big" issues are all well documented and most have easy resolutions. The car isn't all things to all men and is certainly no replacement for something like an RS6, but a lot of folks come to the RRS from performance cars and find the change is somewhat surprising (you slow down and learn to float along, rather than attacking every bend like it just spilled your pint). Be interested to hear your RRS vs Land Cruiser comparisons though Thumbs Up

Belgium 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue

Having had an 80series Amazon VX 4.2TD I found it slightly more comfortable than the RRS and to have a less restricted view through the windscreen. The ride is softer in the Amazon too but the RRS is much quicker and more capable off road as standard.
The worst feature I found in the Amazon was the original tyres Toyota supplied it with, Dunlop Grand Treck, they were just ok in the dry but leathal in the wet and hopeless offroad. The RRS is smaller and you cannot get the same amount of stuff in it, and I do sometimes miss the 3rd row of seats too.
The Toyota was the most reliable vechicle I have ever had, a faultless 113,000 miles form new in a little over a year. The next owner of it wasn't so lucky tho as he managed to crack the inlet manifold beside the turbo within 4k miles of getting the vehicle from me ( he never let the turbo cool before shutting the car down).
The RRS has had a few niggles including having to be recovered back to the dealer for a stuck EPB and have only done 50k km in a little over 2years. I'm still happy with my purchase of the RRS but I do miss the Landcruiser sometimes.
