Availabilty???

May be question for James at CHPR...what is the supply situation at the moment? I am told by the local dealers that there is no opportunity to obtain anything this side of Christmas is this true for all variants of RRS? has anyone been able to secure a vehicle without the 3 month wait?

There's not much in the channel apparently (I suspect there's something if you don't mind what it is), but factory orders I think are into Feb/Mar delivery now? As you say, James will have the more accurate view of this Very Happy

Think you may be right...although I'm open to various specs...went to GS Coventry...oh my god what a bunch of clowns....went to Trinity Landrover at Hincley and got told they have thrown in the towel and will cease to be a Landrover sales outlet at the end of this year and therefore will not take new orders...

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Java Black

Popped into a Lookers Dealers in Essex on Sunday, same thing Factory orders now for Jan/Feb. First visit to this one, and quite refreshing Very Friendly and Helpful. Same group as CHPR.

They had two RRS HSEs left in stock both 3.0 HSEs. One Zermatt, didn't see the other one.

As Schmoogle said, it depends how open on spec you are.

First view in the flesh for me, and I loved the interior improvements, outside is definately growing on me.

Could have driven off in the silver one if I'd wanted, just can't get my head round regular visits to Service Dept to get new niggles ironed out.
Kind of think it's better the devil you know, now after numerous visits to Service to get mine straight.

For now anyway.

So..no brochures at the dealers either....apparently they tell me that after the initial free half dozen from Landrover they have to pay £2.50 for each one they order....so the sales manager says 'no more' that's what GS at Coventry told me..

Seems like the marketing suits are really switched on at Landrover..no brochures...order on line and it never arrives...dealer refers to the ''e brochure'..but that looks like its been put together by the local school...uninformative to say the least..

This is getting tragic...dealers here are aloof to say the least if not down right ignorant...no brochures... Crying or Very sad

Fair point Landlord,

think LR might get a few repsonses like yours with delivery dates now out after the VAT increase date. I wonder if LR will look to absorb some of the VAT increase in the short term, rather than ending up sitting on stock?

Expensive I know for LR, but worth a try. Even if they offered a couple of free services.

Engineer,

Apologies for not spotting the thread earlier! Yes stock is a little tight, however if you are open-minded in terms of specification and/or colour combinations then it shouldn't be too difficult to find you a vehicle pre-VAT increase.

We have small number available now, however we have a few coming through in November and December which may fit the bill? Any dealer quoting January is looking to order a fresh vehicle for you, which I appreciate will attract the higher rate of VAT. They will only be doing this for one of two reasons; 1 That the specification you are after is not available in the network and there is nothing close that you would accept or 2 That they have sold out of all 'physical' and 'on order' vehicles. If they have sold out then they will be waiting for their next allocation from Land Rover which is likely to be for build in late Dec / early Jan. If they have customers ahead of you that they have orders for then this may mean that you will be at the back of the line for the next allocation or possibly into the following allocation. The only way to know is to ask the dealer directly and find out if they would be ordering you vehicle in the next allocation.

With the above in mind, please fee free to email me (quicker than PM) at jamestayler@charleshurstgroup.co.uk with the specification of what you are after and if you are able to compromise on any aspects of it (eg 1,2,3 colour choices, prefered interior, must have privacy glass etc etc) and I will then I can let you know if we have anything spot-on or close.

Unfortunately I've tried to download the brochure to the site, however it is too large! I have managed to upload the price list:

2010 Sport Brochure

If you order a brochure on-line then (and I say this as we enter a postal strike), it should only take a few days to come through. I can email you a pdf if preferred.

So in summary we would be more than happy to give you some alternatives. Please drop me an email with your must have's and must not have's and we'll do our very best!

As a number of forum members know, we love a challenge, and if it's something that is humanly possible then we are usually able to come up with a solution.

James Thumbs Up

Engineer,

If you are not that fussy then we must be able to find you something!! Unfortunately bu the time you read this I will be on holiday for a week, therfore I will ask Matthew Gurney (who many of the forum members know) to look after you. With this in mind could you send your email to him at matthewgurney@charleshurstgroup.co.uk.

Many thanks for the response, and hopefully when I return Matthew will be able to tell me that we have secured an order with you! Whistle

James Thumbs Up
