I think I'm happy with an accuracy of 2m.

The EU have probably instigated this so they can track our movements even more accurately.

Sounds like it still uses the US GPS satelites as part of it's location calculations.

I think all Satnav systems use the same set of satellites, it's the functionality of the receiver that does the funky stuff (i.e. displaying your speed etc).

Due to the use of the US satelites I Meant if the US pull the plug on the satelites, the EU project will stop working.

Guess they would have checked with the Yanks first before spending all the money on it.

Ahh, that looks similar to something I read before.

Sounds like a good project to be on. Nothing like a big delay to keep a contractor in work.

Still my projects don't usually involve planes falling out of the sky.

I wouldn't trust a 100 quid GPS unit to rotect my licence either....or the one fitted in the RRS for that matter (even if we could display speed)

I'm on 10 demerit points, most of which are for riduculous fines such as 106km/h in a 100km/h! I got three of those in one day in the Freeway to Geelong by unmarked cameras..

I got one recently for 107km/h. Since I have a hitherto perfect driving record, I wrote to them asking to be let off. Miraculoulsy, they let me off with a warning and a "don't do it again"!
