Red - I have tried the High Beam Assist this weekend in our D4. To be honest I could happily live without it. It is a very clever piece of kit, but it does make mistakes and so could get you in trouble. And the problem is you cannot manually override it when in Auto mode. Main mistake is that it picks up the reflected light from road signs and barriers and thinks that is a car coming the other way and turn off high beam. Where that road sign is a warning sign (such as zig zags or tight curve) or a barrier around a dangerous corner - then I would rather have manual control of my headlights. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Had my car for two weeks now and High Beam Assist never let me down once and it is controllable using the beam stalk.! It has not picked up reflection on any road signs. How it recognised small rear red lights so far away astounds me! Excellent bit of kit IMO and would def spec it again. On the other hand got major issues with forward alert as part of the adaptive cruise. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't which is a bit disconcerting ! Apparently its a software issue - theres a surprise! |
