sounds like you have a good Dealer there, make the most of the freebies while you use your RRS as show car for them. Thumbs Up

And when I get round to getting a MY10 I'll be leaving any map updates to someone who knows what there doing, whenever I do any software updates on anything I end up crashing everything. Laughing

don't expect much from the East Europe maps from Navteq - they are crap. I bought the CDs in March. There is almost NOTHING for Slovenia, there are little bits of Croatia, nothing (other than a few main roads) of Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia or Montenegro. Hungary is tad better. I still haven't tried it out in greece but I have to say it was money NOT well spent. Dunno who your dealer is in Bosnia, but in general in this part of the world the service is hit and miss with the notable exception perhaps of Tomic in Zagreb. Be very careful to whom you give your car for a service down here (that rule applies everywhere as you will see from this forum but it is doubly important in the Balkans) RRS TDV6 (gone)

KevinJM,

thanks a lot for useful input. The local dealer here in Sarajevo is F-AC and so far the boys in the garage have been doing a solid work as they also service VOLVO cars I replaced recently. Will give it a go with the first 5k km and if I'm not happy, Tomic should be the next one to test.

Having read SkyWalker’s comments about upgrading to 2009/2010 sat nav DVD I checked the disc that came with my ’57 RRS, was copywrite dated 2005.
Ebay search revealed a variety of DVDs for sale for a variety of ages and I have now obtained a 2009/2010. When inserted the car spends quite some time upgrading the software and the resulting screen has changed slightly + it shows more of the tiny roads near home.
Word of warning the first DVDs issued, like mine, only give a copywrite date, later upgrades all show in prominent upgrade date. On Ebay I noticed that while most DVD’s advertised clearly stated which years they covered one of them was partly in a case, showed blank where the upgrade date would have been with the 2005 copywrite obscured and the case showed 2009/2010, the advert made no mention of date. Suspect someone selling old disc in new box! 20 RRS P400e HSE Dynamic Eiger grey/Ebony - Gone

Could you explain the screen changes please?

Only vaguely as I have only used it in the dark on the drive to the station this morning and only used the original one a couple of times, also easy to get confused with the FL2 and my TomTom I have just been using in a hire car abroad!
- The screen split options have changed so now I could only get an inset rather than 50:50 split, but it actually looks quite good
- My home is shown by a different icon
- A route set to Bucks showed a clear number split of miles of total actually on the motorway
- In the past part of the trip to the station was shown as off-road, now it admits a road actually exists.
When I first put it in I thought I had broken it as it defaults to Holland 20 RRS P400e HSE Dynamic Eiger grey/Ebony - Gone

Cedric,

Good Point Well Made on buying from Ebay.

Think with anything from Ebay it's 'Buyer Beware', if you can't verify the product they're selling is accurate, vague descs etc.

Perhaps it was Belgium, it just showed green on a tiny map somewhere just over the channel that wasn't France!
As a Poirot fan I perhaps should be able to identify Belgium 20 RRS P400e HSE Dynamic Eiger grey/Ebony - Gone

Don't worry.

Anything that defaults to Holland works optimal.
I would get nervous if it would default to Belgium... Whistle

I have bought a Nav DVD from the eBay seller mentioned earlier in this thread.

It was a fake, however i did get my money back.

(fakes are bad, booooooooo)

((and also break the drive, bigger BOOOOO) I keep telling myself 'It's a toy'
But I've broken quite a lot of toys in my time.....
