I quite like the whole Q car/big engine thing. Childhood memories of:

Lancia Thema 8.32 - Ferrari engine under bonnet but not actually quicker than the thema turbo
Maserati Bi-turbos - Didn't look great but flew (In a straight line)

Modern day ones:

Biggles Touareg V10 - Rocketship acceleration
Passat W8 - Crap car but great engine
Rover 75 V8 - Not brutally quick, but quick none the less

I even once saw a Ford Escort which had been converted to fit the Ford 2.9V6 of the time with some state of tune.

Incidentally, one of our Chief Execs. test drove a new M5 for a week. In the end, I think the wait put him off and he's now got a dark met. blue 550i Sport with beige leather - Nice car. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Seriously though, What do you mean by Broker? I have tended just to use a local finance company in the past as they know the manx market..

Are there any rules and regs about the Isle of Man which mean you need to use finance form there? Or can you use finance from anywhere in the UK? I use a broker for financing (and for sourcing, come to that) my cars as he has a view of the open market and therefore can get me a good deal, unlike working with dealer finance where you are tied to a particular product and as such any negotiation will be finite within the limits of that product. Being Manx-based maybe you'd get a better deal from a local broker - I'm not sure?

I do not see any reason why we are not able to get finance from the uk, i have experienced the odd difficulty in the past when getting quotes for leasing cars, but that was down to us having different registration plates etc as well as it being hard for them to deliver the car to me.

Kam has mentioned about brokers in a previous post but i glanced over it.. maybe i should take the broker route more seriously.

Now that, is a quality pic.

I looked at that and my first reaction was a contented, but slightly sinister chuckle to myself. Twisted Evil

well some of the manx women look like they have 3 heads, so far ive not seen any with 3 boobs (like in total recall) but u never know. Sellafield is only 35miles away, if that dump ever goes up ill need more than an M5 to get away from the blast!

all this talk of M5s is turning me away from the Sport im testing in an hour .. Confused but im glad that you all seem to harbour a similar and restrained fetish for the new m5..
