Thanks for your reply guys..

The thought was ordering a taxfree vehicle (LHD) with a tax free liscene plate and collecting it in the UK. I think I'm able to drive it for up to 6 or 12 month before I have to register it back home.. Looking at prices in the UK it would safe lots of money...

We are also thinking of buying a LHD vehicle for our house in France
we realise we can claim back the 15% UK vat and then because the vehicle is "brand new" have to pay 19.6% TVA when it lands in France along with the "eco car or gas guzzler" tax of 2500€

When you consider a V8HSE is 82k€ without extras a 35% discount sounds very, very attractive

Also as I still earn sterling and not euros, I do not have to pay exchange commission/ non favourable exchange rate (however small)

Does anyone know if we buy a LHD vehicle do we get the EU 2 year warranty or UK 3 year warranty?

The warranty is 3 years for LR products - at least here in Krautland there should be no difference in France .....

I bought my RRS from UK last May, taxfree and the plates were valid for 6 months.
Tax will be paid in Greece when I'll return.
Warranty is paneuropean for 3 years or 100000km 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

Just sorted out my RRS few days ago with export from UK to Third Country not EU. Land Rover did all the paperwork with exception of VAT410 I needed filling out and sending it back to the UK. Export plates are valid until 31/01/10 i.e. 5 months from the date of export which was 01/09/09 (vehicle was built on 25/0. I had excellent experience with Military sales people RRS TdV6 MY2010
