United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
First 300 Miles TDV6 HSE

Excellent build quality. Stunning trim. Road holding and handling Jag like. Hope the MPG improves. Same as My 01-07 TDV8. Maybe a bit worse

Hopefully there will be a ECU upgrade around soon. Still turbo lag on take off.
Will probably spec up a TD V8 for 01-10

Hi I will post some pics next week. But look on the land Rover site. They have some good ones on build your car. You have to spec the ivory trim.

As for my price and Joy……er I don’t think so. I much prefer the TDV8 you have to work the V6 to get to go. Along with to much lag on take off, got caught out a few times already at traffic lights.

Sorry……also make sure you get your tracking checked. Mine was out on delivery from the factory. Also the wheels are not balanced correctly. Will put this right next week.

Interesting comments on TDV6 vs TDV8. I haven't driven the former but it shows how misleading peak torque, hp and 0-60 figures can be.

Has anybody seen a torque curve for the TDV6 and TDV8 engines? - would be interesting to compare although still no substitute for the driving each of them.

The 3.0 V6 is a massive step up on the 2.7 . How ever it should not be compared along side the TDV8.

Also the MPG is a big disappointment. Around town my TDV8 would see 23-26 all day every day. On a Motorway journey 28-32. These figures include driving the car in the sprit it was intended.

TDV6. Ok its only done 700 miles. Around town 21-22 . Round trip to Bristol and back 23.7. This is with driving in a conservative manner. The most annoying problem is the Turbo lag at traffic lights

I will be trying track down a EU upgrade later. Other wise its back to a TDV8

Thats interesting regarding the Turbo Lag on your TDV6 versus TDV8 ! I got cvaught with turbo lag a few times in my 07/07 TDV8 and dont seem to have it on my new TDV6 MY10. Miss the V8 rumble but find the TDV6 much more refined IMO. I hear the V8 is being worked on and a 4 litre may appear next year.

Own a RRS TDV8 at present and have a test drive of the new TDV6 booked for Wednesday.
Local dealer said I should not notice a major difference in performance but the MPG will be improved.
Will report back after the TD Thumbs Up

I don't think you can expect exacting MPG figures from a car with 700 miles.

I am comparing my ole 2.7 D3, but there is really no turbo lag on the 3lt TDV6. Must be a light years ahead of yr TDV8 with it's twin turbo's? 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

Completed a round trip today 160 miles. Averaged 23.4 MPG. 80% Motorway and duel carriage way used cruise control on Motorway. There is just no way this will ever see late 20s or early 30s MPG.

Also the reduced tank size is annoying. As soon as I get back to UK I will be ordering up a TD V8.

Hi Cityladd,

I had the new TDV6 out for a test drive yesterday and on the 100 miles I have done so far, I am seeing 33mpg?
Away from traffic lights the car is every bit as good as my current TDV8.
The ride, cornering and braking are also greatly improved. So impressed that I will be placing an order this morning when i return the demo.

Would it be worth getting your dealer to have a look at the car as something is not right?
Thumbs Up

Tank volume is the same for TDV6 and TDV8, only SC has slightly bigger tank SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

The tank on my V6 is a different sise to the TDV8 Fact, it costs approx 20.00 GBP lees to fill up also the range is only 350 miles when full as in not over 400 in the V8.

I just do not see how you can see 33 MPG. Are you reading the instant fuel reading this will show up to 99 MPG. What is the average showing. On the demo that I drove the average was 23.4

300 miles in avraging 26.2 mpg in my TDV6 no motorway driving so expect 30+ as it loosens up. I had a TDV8 and this engine is def more economical as I average 22.2 in that on a similar pattern of driving and that was when it had 20k miles on the clock.
