United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Cold Start Stumble

Hi

I have a 2005 TDV6 and have a little problem.

When starting from cold the engine coughs and splutter into life. Rest of the day it will be fine.

Took it to stealers who reckon could be ambient air temp reading too low or software or injectors or glow plugs!

The glow plug light come on no matter what the weather which they say is unusual.

Also get HDC error message time to time when it doesnt start well which made me think battery knackered.

They tested and said its OK. Dont think they drop tested so still a bit weak I think.

I've seen the TB's on cold start stumble but none say anything about glow plugs coming on. Do yours come on?

Has anyone had similar

Thanks for any help Thumbs Up

Not had any problems with starting hot or cold. Reference the glow plug light it normally comes on for about 5 - 10 secs when you first start the car in the day then it blinks off after a second or so when you start it for the rest of the day. At least thats my experience.
