I agree, it's all about finding a good sales exec. Unfortunately I've had the fatal experience of dealing with ones who've transferred from their lesser brand dealerships (Ford, Vauxhall etc) and haven't quite mastered the art of selling premium brands, opting for quantity over quality. Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

Thanks for all the info so far.
Plan to phone around as Stratestone knocked £6000 of my new TDV8 back in March 2008.

Tried downloading the online ebrochure but to no avail Big Cry

Hopefull James at CHPR will be able to sort that out today Thumbs Up

What are the must have options on the car, looking forward to the heated steerng wheel.
Anything else I should look at putting on the car?

Cheers

Options wise

Privacy glass
Side steps
Heated steering wheel
Premium leather with contrast stitching
Heated rear seats

The camera system wont be available till Q1 2010 due to heavy demand?

Anything eles I should consider

The car is the TDV6 HSE which I believe has heated rear seats as standard.
The extended leather option also looks good!

The diamond cut black alloys? They look like the would mark like a Censored ....avoid?
Thanks
Thumbs Up

We'll certainly do our best, it'll be actually getting hold of one that will be the challenge at the moment. The Q4 offers will be announced tomorrow, so there may be something in there that is of interest to you.

We've delivered 32 new cars since Monday so apologies if Matts been difficult to track down, I know he left a message, and from your post it sounds like you've managed to speak this afternoon.

Have a look at Richchad's (forum name) post re his new 2010 as he posted some comparison photos that Matthew sent him illustrating extended and non-extended leather. Would love to post the link but I'm tapping this on my phone!

A the best.

Evening James,

Matt is going to send some pics through of various colour options, the Stornoway and the Black.
I have seen Richards post regarding the extended leather option and am easy either way on that option.
When I was in the local dealer they had a set of unfitted 20" black diamond cut alloys that were a £500 option, the only thing that put me off was the dealer said they would be easily damaged and unrepairable ie a new alloy if badly scrapped?

Have you seen these alloys on a my10 car and if so whats your thoughts?
Would they look ok on a black or grey car?

Not bothered about the camera system as you could park an HGV on the drive and work is the same.

Hopefully Landrover will continue or improve their 0% offer and I can get into a car quickly........like next week? Wink

Thanks again for everything so far Thumbs Up

For options and prices, visit the www.drivethedeal.co.uk

Use it as a tool to start the negotiations with a local dealer. Presently, you'll get £3,666 off a standard HSE - who was the joker that said you won't get a discount on a new model? I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

Red,

I'd say that 50% of the RRS's we;ve delivered in Sept have had diamond turned alloys. They are no less-repairable than the standard alloys however they are more expensive to repair.

Matt will let you know the Q4 offers in a while...... not sure if 0% can be improved upon! Whistle

What would be good is the "we pay you to buy our cars" scheme - you're missing a trick there James Laughing

Me I think Question (perhaps it wasn't me on reflection as there is always 'a deal' to be had somewhere) Wink

I would be genuinely interested if anoyne is able to buy at that discount, what the lead time would be and therefore if it would suffer the 2.5% VAT increase in Jan.

I'm not being negative, just very interested (and suprised) Shocked

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Sumatra Black

Picked my MY 10 TDV6 HSE ( coming from TDV8). Car was pre specced Stornoway with Ebony which is very smart. Options as follows:-
Adaptive cruise - not worth the money
High Beam Assist - fantastic
Premium Leather - worth having
Diamond Cut Alloys - Look very nice and are repairable
Side Steps - on Stornoway with the alloys finish the car off very nicely
Paddle Shift - may never use them but not an expensive option.
Surround Camera - still trying to work it out!! It works very well though bit concerned how dirty the lenses will get in Winter.

Options I wish I had:-

Heated steering wheel

General impression 24 hours in:-

TDV6 every bit as good as TDV8 in terms of refinement. Too early to say on power delivery etc.
Exterior - changes are subtle - very few of my friends could spot the differences against my old one
Interior - dramatic changes. The cabin feels of high quality and a very pleasant place to be. Feels like a totally different car to be in. Sound system is fantastic .
Driving - major improvements. Gone is the crashing and banging. Steering is direct and the ride is almost Limo like. Very impressed.

Discounts - they are available!

Service - Purchased mine through Sturgess Leicester - fantastic experience .

Niggles - Wind noise from drivers mirror at 50-60 mph.

Thought I may be disappointed moving down to the TDV6. How wrong I was!

They most certainly are (especially for September), but they are dwindling fast. I'm interested to see if the DTD offer can be achieved by anyone.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Just taken delivery of TDV6 HSE. Coming from TDV8. No problems with the performance. Hope the MPG improves

TDV8 was overall 26-27 out of the box the V6 is showing 21-22 although this should improve. Used to see 33-35 out of my first 2.7.

Over all massive improvement in handling, also build quality seem to have improved.

Not sure about my colour , Bali…. If they continue with the 0% package I may spec up a Black, Black for Jan 10.

Although Bali was my second choice I was happy to secure a car. The Black ones I was offered were sold over night. Good price for my TDV8 01-07 45K Along with a discount.

85% of dealers that I contacted were not prepared to give any discount

> Adaptive cruise - not worth the money

I have actually found this to be really useful and a huge improvement as for 90% of motorway driving you are constrained by traffic speed rather than maximum desired cruise speed. It actually works surprisingly well in terms of not slamming on the brakes if somebody pulls out in front of you (providing they are accelerating away from you) or on narrow lanes in motorway roadworks. However if you don't do much congested motorway / A road driving it would have limited use.

Did you really get £45k for an 07 TDV8, or have I misread your post. Confused

Gazzer,

on being desensitized to the buying experience, I'm the same.
It's a financial transaction for me, first priority is that the order is completed correctly, paperwork, product, etc is supplied correctly.
Would be nice to have the warm feeling of picking up a new toy, but that comes second to completing the transaction correctly.
Surprising how many Sales people are colour blind, they fitted Grey Range Rover Carpet mats in an Ebony interior. Rolling Eyes
Answer - 'Must have been all they had in stock', not the biggest problem in the world. But kind of smacks of a can't be arsed attitude. Took a month to get Ebony mats, and not one phone call returned.
Hmmm, attitude change once they have your money. Evil or Very Mad
The Mrs couldn't understand why I wasn't grinning like a cheshire cat when we picked it up. Although I was grinning once all was complete. She kind of missed the point that the first priority was to make sure the handover went correctly. Dozey Cow. Laughing
