Rough when starting but only for the first 10 seconds or so?

From cold start the engine has a really rough vibration but only for about the first ten seconds then it is fine. Can anyone help with this please?

Which engine is it.

The diesels can be quite rough at first on start untill they settle down to idle.

It is the TDV6 so if its common im not concerned just didnt want it to develop into something serious. I have just added a fuel treatment to the tank so see if it eases up any over the next few days!

Keep an eye on it, but if it is as short lived as you describe, it's nohing to worry about.

If this is an issue, someone on here should pipe up and explain soon. Thumbs Up

Some use 2 stroke oil in their fuel tank, if you do a search you'll find it discussed at length.

Tried the fuel additive and it hasnt made any difference so Im gonna give the 2 stroke oil a go and see if that helps. Does anybody know exactly which oil is recommended please?

There are some threads on this site, but I believe it all originated on this thread over on freel2:

Personally - I've not done it myself.
