Off roading the off roader

Guys, sorry if this has been discussed before - if so please steer me in the right direction.

I am going overseas for 6 weeks and the RRS will be in the garage. Should I get someone to turn the engine over, run it around the block, etc?

Or should it be no problem letting it stand for that long?

Mick,
Under no circumstances must you leave your new MY10 for that long, the engine will be seized solid by the time you get back, the battery will be flat and all your ECU's damaged beyond repair.
However,if you leave it with me before you go I will ensure everything will be in perfect working order ready for your return Thumbs Up MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Leaving the car for 6 weeks should be fine. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Would be interested to know if Landrover had any recommended short-term lay up procedures. Is it best to put suspension into access mode? Jack off floor to stop flat spotting tyres? Connect a battery conditioner?

I'd lower it to the bumper stops and put it on a trickle charger. LR are experiencing issues with the batteries being drained far faster on the new ones than first thought, while left in storage. You might want to sit the tyres on some carpet save sticking to the floor and don't wash it and put it to bed straight away, she'll seize up! Other than that she'll be fine. Leave park brake off! 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

In January I parked my RRS for 3 month(I expected to be away only one)in cold weather, came back and the car started right away with no issues.
Only precautions, lowered suspensions to access mode and left park brake off '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil
