I took delivery of a 10MY TDV8 (first RRS) a couple of weeks back and subsequently discovered the Dynamic mode on terrain response (variable dampers) did not work. Several discussions with the dealer and false leads on the cause discovered that a large number of TDV8 vehicles were shipped with the wrong terrain optimisation switch in the centre console (you can tell beacuse it is missing the motorway symbol positioned about 7 o'clock on the dial). This resulted in no power to the adaptive dynamics control unit and no dynamic response mode.

Today LR have finally published a notice on GTR highlighting the problem and authorising replacement of the terrain optimisation switch. It would appear, from the LR notice to affect around 100 UK vehicles and 250 odd delivered globally. It is not a recall so I guess they are hoping people notice their cars have been built incorrectly. So if you are one of the few who have taken delivery of a TDV8 check the dynamic response mode works!

Sounds like 'Business As Usual' for LR Quality Control.

Typical that they expect the customer to spot the defects, we'll have to join they're testing meetings soon to signoff that we have carried out all the Customer test scripts.
