What do I need to look for / check?

I am collectingmy RRS SC (07) on Saturday morning from Hunters in Southampton. Was just wondering what I should be looking for and checking.

Any gems of advice would be massively appreciated.

You should be looking for a silver RRS SC!

Seriously though - I presume you've had a test drive and checked if there is the 'knocking' - the most serious of complaints. Apart from that the RRS hasn't really got many huge problems and as your car is still in warranty you should be fine. I presume your dealer offers the usual return car if not 100% happy within a certain time frame so the best thing is to give the car a good going over for the first few days and if not happy speak to the dealer. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Thanks,

I haven't had a chance to test drive as I live too far away. Obviously with the exception of a hold deposit (fully refundable) I haven't paid the rest of the cash. I intend to give the vehicle a good examination and long test drive. I will listen for the knocking and obviously check in all combinations of drive.

Cheers

Be prepared for traffic, drove to Dorset from Essex last weekend, the M3 was a nightmare. Roadworks, then the M27 junction and average speed cameras at 50mph.

When you get there, as VA said. Additionally worth checking some obvious things:

Alloys for kerbing, the 20's can suffer.
Check the spare, mine was badly worn and flat.
General bodywork condition, some have been in the wars.
Mileage and service tallys to what's been advertised.
The above are difficult to rectify from a distance once collected.

Anything mechanical/electrical that is wrong or isn't obvious when you collect should be covered by warranty.

Then enjoy the drive home, subject to traffic. Thumbs Up

1. Worn anti roll bar bushes causes a suspension knocking/rumbling sound when driving and is a known problem.
2. Paintwork - Make sure you thoroughly check the bodywork. I picked mine up when it was overcast and didn't stop a few scratches until I got back home. Dealership are paying for the whole car to be machine polished but could have done without the hassle.
3. Ensure air suspension sitting level at 4 sides.
4. As yours is an SC, correct types of grille and vents fitted

You have the LR warranty to cover the technical issues but just make sure the bodywork represents the car of it's age. Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"
