KEY FOB ISSUES CONCERNING BOOT OPENING

For those posters above who are confused as to why the third button on the key fob no longer opens the entire boot and instead only opens the glass portion, I can report the following:

My 2008.5 MY TDV8 is booked in for it's first service today (Guy Salmon, Stockport), and I had reported that there was a problem with the key fob. This problem is as described above, i.e. the third button used to open the entire boot, but for no reason started to only open the glass tailgate.

If I re-set/re-program the fob, it works for a few days then reverts to only opening the tailgate - very annoying!!

The dealer has just called to say that there are only 3 settings for my key fob according to the LR Global Technical Reference list (I think they put my chassis number into this), and they are 1. lights staying on, 2 Air suspension dropping down, and 3. remote opening of the glass tailgate. He insists that there isn't and never has been an option of opening the entire boot.

He seemed to not believe me when I told him that this option used to work fine for the first few months that I owned the car!!

To summarise, I am more confused now than I was before they picked up the car, and am even doubting myself as to the fob opening the entire boot in the past!!!!! Evil or Very Mad

he's talking Censored . Many on here said it used to open the entire boot. Whilst holding the 3rd button on the key fob down....press the boot open button and the key fob will again open the whole boot......THEN GO BACK TO THE DEALER AND SHOW HIM!!!

Confirm it's BS.

My MY06 had one key set to open tailgate and the other set to tailglass, when I collected mine.

I reset both to tailgate only, then got bored with that set them both to turning on the lights.

I've been lucky in two years I've had the car I haven't had any problems with the fob resetting to different functions.

Tell Guy Salmon to RTFM on page 30 it states the options available. Whistle

Panic Alarm
Headlamp courtesy delay
Suspension
Tailgate Release
Tailglass Release

Even my 2005 model did that. I think we have identified a training requirement at that particular dealer.
