Along with a small discount on the 2010, this looked like a good deal. Not many cars left in the net work.

Provided the 2010 is reliable over the first few months I will spec up a car for Jan delivery to my preferred options. I may re visit the TDV8.

How ever I have to say that having driven the new 3.0 V6. All beit briefly in my view this is 90% of the performance of the V8 with hopefully a 50% reduction at the pump.

Having said that the V8 is retuning 25-27 around town and regularly over 30 on motorway trips.

As a foot note
I would add that just taken delivery of a X6 35d for my wife. The RRS is so superior in all departments. I can not see us keeping this for long. Interesting point the most we were offered for the 07 TDV8 was 25k from the BMW agent. We were able to secure a 10k discount on the X6.

I have no sympathy for the BMW dealer - there must be big discounts generally available on them as I have seen loads of X6's recently and what other reason would you have for buying one other than a huge discount! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The discounts are no longer available on he X6. BMW has caught up in relation to supply and demand and stock in the system

Its only fair to point out that there were some sizable discounts available on RR 010 product back in June –July. How ever now that the 2010 has taken of these are getting few and far between with dealers not offering any.

It will be interesting to price test the 2010 TDV8 later in the year as over 80% of order are for the V6

I suspect we might see a few incentives to dealers to sell more TDv8's.............................. if only to get rid of the 3.6's before the rumoured 4.0 comes along! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

in 2006 there was no 3.6TDv8 either................................... not even being thought about said all the dealers! But we knew about it here and we have also heard about the 4.0l 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

There is no 4.0 TDI V8 Fact.

The TDV8 3.6 has been on the cards from 04. Just needed a little help and expertise of the market leader in this area.

New ECUs and injection system under development. For 3.6.No need to take out to 4.0. The 3.6 had to be de tuned from the off.

There might not be 4ltr TD today but are you sure there won't be a 4lt TD in the future? They must have a product roadmap with a 4lt engine at some point? seems a logical step (2.7 > 3.6 > 4.0ltr) Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

the 5ltr superchaged rrs looks the one to have if you can buy a car in this bracket,why worry about mpg when you have that sort of performance nder your foot????When you buy a car 50k-60k why worry about 150.00 fuel aweek!!! i used to have v12 xjs all the time in the nineties 6-8mpg lol???
