If you have them you don't know how you managed in multistorey carparks without them! On night time drives with passengers they always notice and ask what the lights are that come on when I indicate or slow to go round bends at less than 25mph! There is no way you wouldn't know you had them on the car at night. The adaptive headlights were a £300 option on 2005MY TDv6 HSE's, they were optional on all the launch cars except the 2 S/C version which had them as standard and became standard later on according to my 2005/2006 and 2007 brouchures 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks to Tim & MAW for their thoughts & experience but with the bulbs wired in & the fuses present presumeably for this operation makes it something of a mystery! I would never have made a decent auto- electrician anyway. |

I'm sure it is when you are doing 25mph or less, but haven't checked the good book. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Manual has speed limis for adaptive lights use of them, 18 to 44mph. Then if 44mph exceeded only come back on below 37.

25mph is when the directional lights come on, IIRC these are no the same as the Adaptive lights.

'Grateful for the imput from ALL of you. It's certainly caused quite a bit of interest, & NO, I haven't given up! I'm just waiting for some sooper dooper person with a fantastic explanation as to why they are fittted BUT not being allowed to work. A L/R contact has suggested "have Land Rover programmed the ECU to stop them working as they might not have been legal in ROI to have these lights illuminated ?"
