RRS 5.9% finance and Dealer Deposit

First post and thinking of purchasing a new V6 HSE. Going back for a second test drive at the weekend.

What exactly is the dealer deposit? Is this paid for by Land Rover? If not paid for by Land Rover does it effect the part exchange value of the car?

Thanks

Contact James Tayler at Charles Hurst Park Royal - his phone number is on his posts here - I'm sure he will explain it but I am surprised it doesn't explain it in the finance literature 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

nothing is really explained on the site. Mentioned it to the local dealer week or so ago and they said this was for 09MY only. Later emailed them what the site actually said and they said they could come to "some sort of deal". I dont want the part exchange lessened than what has been quoted so far to cater for any "dealer deposit"

Tried to PM but not yet allowed Sad

Hmm, I thought it might be a %age contribution but judging by the two examples on the site, it's not... Confused

If you can get hold of James, he will no doubt be able to explain everything (and maybe even kindly offer to supply you with a new vehicle) Wink

There's even this thing that sits on your desk and makes a funny noise... has lots of buttons on the front. I think they call it a phone or something.... apparently, you can actually speak to people on it Wink

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

i know where you can get a 0% deal loan yourself the money to buy the car on the old debit card and save paying the intrest

the dealer deposit is simply an incentive to get you into the deal and it may be used to put towards the depoit you put in with part ex etc cashback etc there all the same thing its just a way of passing on a discount and make it look like your gaining but in fact its all just numbers

as you will know not one finance contract is the same as another but the fsa make it a bit harder for the dealers traders hide the numbers and all deals are subject to status so will no doubt be different

best way to save money would be sell car private and then buy your new car with a simple cash deposit will take away any sort of reduction in part ex vaule but its not that practical for some people to be carless

best advice do shop around and if you see the car and the deal you think is right go for it , i have seen many people on here mention some broker guys who seem to have nothing but praise from other members so could be worth contacting these people they will want your business and will do the best to uphold there reputation as traders are worth nothing without top class recomendations, where if a dealer does not sell you that car they will sell it to some one else, where the brokers source the exact car your looking for unlike many dealers just what they have in stock at some of there other branches

hope my ramblings are helpful not confusing "ha ha HA HA" laughing all the way to the bank!

Have exchanged a few emails with Tony and got to the bottom of the dealer incentive for him. LR are promoting the SE and to get to a reasonable monthly payment the dealer needs to contribute £2k ish towards reducing the financed balance.

I've given Tony a few options as he is looking at a decent spec HSE, and hopefully he will decide to reserve a vehicle from a trusted source! Whistle

James Thumbs Up

The incentive is very good and is way ahead of the open finance market right now.. If you are looking for an SE i would get in touch with James and get hold of one quick time before the incentive runs out... If however you are looking for a highly competitive quote on a conventional deal, give us a try, you never know.. Wink

Like what the man above says about independant brokers.. Very Happy Thumbs Up

thanks for everyones response, James especially who provided various options almost immediately from an email sent!

I have now purchased a new santorini black HSE with rear DVDs, etc through my local dealer. They actually came up with a good enough deal for me to sort out on the day.

After a couple of test drives I found the new RRS to be bit like a 4x4 7 series. Thought the X5 was a bit "cheap". Test drove alot of cars and am hoping the RRS will be as reliable as all my previous BMs

Should get the car in time for the weekend Smile
